Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Another pointless meeting

I only have myself to blame. Stupidly, I actually thought that the gang of clowns at the top would finally actually address issues head on, give us honest answers, and focus on the things that the employees are actually worried about.

Instead ... we find out that Jeffy didn't know anything about Juneteenth – because why on earth should a rich white guy know about a celebration meant to commemorate the end of slavery.

Then we're treated to 10 minutes of burps and nonsense over a question that nobody really asked, but which these dolts thought would be a good way to waste time.

Why don't these people have the basic respect for their employees to take this time and talk about, oh, the layoffs and where they will happen.

Leaders? No. Losers and cowards, all of them

Transparency is a term they love to use. They need to look up the definition! "Transparency, in a business or governance context, is honesty and openness. ... In general, transparency is the quality of being easily seen through. "

What was transparent about that call? They say they have a plan, but dont spell it out. They say it will be in stages, but wont let us know what orgs and what the timeline is. You ask a question but they skirt around it.

They didn't get to the question of why they are only giving managers 2 weeks, when the past practice is to get 60 days. They didnt answer why ATT is not following the WARN act. All this to save a buck so they can over pay the executives, give them bonuses, and if they retire give them 6 months and a 250,000 a month salary. Were is the transparency in that.

So many questions left unanswered, what was the point of the meeting. Just so Leadership can feel better about themselves and the justifications they came up with.

Every answer was long winded, covering their agenda and limiting time to cover other questions

HBOMax commentary as successful is laughable. Roku and Firestick are about ⅔ of the market. They missed that boat entirely. How can it possibly come close to successful? Laughable.

So true! I’m sad to say I thought they would give us honest answers as well. Now I know they will NEVER be straight forward and honest with us!!

There are people I know that would like to take an offer of voluntary separation. It’s never been offered. I know of nobody across many organizations that were ever offered the option.
