You have two great options to pick from. You will be fine. It’s all about cost reduction. Store closings are not just about the people but the cost to keep a store in operation. Lease costs, people costs, and everything else that goes with it.
Take the customer care role, keeping your tenure. Stores will have openings in the future. Do your best, you’ll get through this. Good luck!
God forbid they move call center managers into tech positions here. That’s half the problem here
Absolutely. I could keep my tenure and actually have a job in this COVID climate.
To the folks saying "at least you have an option", would you move into a sales call center if they gave you the chance? If not, then stfu. If you would, then keep your eye out I sure there will be some hiring happening at some point.
the whole point is as to why does our position in certain stores have to get shut down and closed rather than filling out stores where clearly they are short staffed and staying open. That is all, not to complain but it doesnt make logical sense to close a positions in stores when clearly some stores are in need of more positions. simply distribute people from closed stores to those in need. thats all.
So you got offered to keep a job and you wanna come on here to get complain about it while others are not given that opportunity.

You are getting an option. Most folks are not. People are being let go with only 2 weeks to find another job outside the company.
