I am a SE ST with just shy of 20 years. I have been through numerous surplus processes, had the gut wrenching worries and the long hours of suspense working at my brain. Believe me it will eat at you until no end. The bad part is you can’t really talk to anyone about it because you can see it in anybody. Senior techs get bored hearing about someone else’s worries and family always start giving you their “ideas” for you to do that just comes to the top of their head at the moment that sounds good.So I am done with it this time. As soon as I looked at the numbers coming up and realized I’m definitely gone this round, it was like I could breathe again and a relief that I am on my way out of this nasty, toxic hole that AT$T has created. So now I walk around all happy and giddy and now the surplus is so huge that the senior techs are all down and fretting. What’s the matter? It’s been coming we all knew it, oh y’all didn’t think it would get to you. That’s why you were all happy and having fun . Well don’t cry on my shoulder. You SOB,s can watch me be happy and giddy until the end and you can suffer for awhile. It’s been real, it’s been fun, but it hasn’t been real fun. Peace out fu—ers.!

There will be no jobs on the other side of the country, there are surplussed people everywhere, dunce
No one wants a wire tech's job anyway lol
You Core techs can't bump Wire techs company made it impossible. THEY WILL OFFER YOU A JOB ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE COUNTRY. Before you bump a Wire tech.
If you have 20 years , you should have no problem bumping. What state are you in? I'm in Florida where we are losing the most techs and I also have 20 years and I'm not worried.
Sounds like, misery likes company. You have options, other titles to bump like opt, Wire tech and possibly others
20 years, and still worrying?
you should have prepared yourself,..you didn't-since you are still here?
so You deserved to be cut. bye.
if very close to 20 year mark, remember you can not be fired while on sick leave. FMLA may stop your seniority clock, I am not sure of rules. No clock stop in Kentucky call centers. Vacation must be approved if paid out at termination, may not count for 20 year goal.
These take a terrible toll on mostly everyone who works for a living in ATT - Management and non management. It's awful to the core. I hear where you're coming from and how you're dealing with it now. Not everyone around you has been able to get there yet. Have compassion for your buddies? Know that it's brutal out in the labor market.
