Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

The one week of "missing" pay in January

If we were to get laid off sometime this year, would we be paid that one week?

Or is that never getting paid?

It’s not a missing week of pay... it was catching up to pay us for weeks already worked versus paying us in advance. I’m not happy about it either, but we technically didn’t get a week’s pay taken from us.

Well the pay wont be interested because the pay raises come in March so you will be getting it at your current new rate if your a salaried employee.

What about the loan they offered us to cover the “missing” week? We are about half-way through the payback period. Will they take the remaining amount out of the severance?

I left Allstate in November. I just want to reach out to you all and say I'm sorry for what you are going through.

Most of the time the company will find a way to pervert the human resource manual by taking items out of context and turning the screws into grey areas. This way they can accuse you of being a disgruntle employee and fire you. Have you always emailed yourself from work, that could be construed as a violation. They turn into a–holes at this point of time and they try to take not give. Your manager is the first to be notified to help identify some way to fire you using any trickery available. Did you follow directions and how do you know that is what they meant.
YOUR FIRED !!!!!!!

We have technically already been paid for it. Originally, we were getting paid ahead of the time we worked. They just pushed it back so that the pay period covered time already worked. So, no, we will not be receiving more money for that week - it was just a reschedule of the pay period structure. It’s all outlined on Gateway.

It isn't missing, they're just paying in arrears. They're still required to pay you for all time worked.

Yes they will pay you. The better question is will they pay with interest.
