Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

It is starting

AT&T Inc plans to cut more than 3,400 technician and clerical jobs across the country over the next few weeks, the wireless carrier told its main labor union, the Communications Workers of America, on Tuesday.
The U.S. telecom and media giant also plans to permanently close over 250 stores, which would impact about 1,300 retail jobs, the union said.
Executives, managers and union-represented employees will be affected along with non-payroll workers outside of the United States, AT&T said. The company is offering severance pay and health care for laid-off employees for the rest of the year.

Why can’t the district offices work on a plan to offer the enhancements across all core titles and backfill accordingly. With changing times we need creative thinking to meet both the union and company needs.

Can the union just go away? Name one industry that unions have not destroyed? Pull you pants up, be a big boy, represent yourself. Stop being average. No need for 3 guys, to change a light bulb

3,400 jobs cut and 250 stores closing doesn’t add up to me. With that math, it would be roughly 13 people per store. Doesn’t seem like that big of a cut at a company with 250k employees.
