RIF on a Hoagie Bun being served next week in AERO

Better get ready for the menu next week.
HoneyNotWell will be serving out warm, toasty delicious RIF’s . The head chefs from HR give a new meaning to the reality show-CHOPPED.
I hear it’s kinda like a chef’s special on the menu you don’t know what it’s like till you bite into one.
Honeywell— awful how they are handling this process and the treatment of their employees.

A manager at a small company I used to work for years ago sent out an email on Friday morning for a all-hands meeting on Monday … only problem was, layoffs were happening on Friday. If you weren't on the meeting list, you knew you were going to get the axe sometime on Friday. Oops :-)

Happens too often when there is a slip of the tongue especially when too many names starts filling up and a simple send will be disastrous. Always proof read.

Fun fact... Just be a on a group text with 20 R&O engineers with the VP and your Ex Sr Director. The Ex Sr Director that should be retired accidentally reply to the group stating who he would lay-off. The jacka$$ hasn’t earned a honest paycheck in years. But let’s reward him with accepting his self nomination even though he already had a retirement date. Stay classy Honeywell

RIF on a pretzel bun being served next week in UOP.
Not warm or toasty. A Director or VP will schedule your call, HR will jump on soon after it starts, they will go through their scripts, and it will be over.
You will come out of this in a few months in a place with better prospects. Don't worry about it. Keep in touch with your UOP fam. ~We are all in this together~

This is the result of years of poor decision making. In good years the bad decisions are masked, but when tough times hit strong companies survive and weak ones limp, if they are lucky. The most talented people I’ve ever met worked at Honeywell. It’s amazing that the intelligence levels between the management and the employees is so far apart. In the words of one extremely intelligent Honeywell “leader”: family god and country keep me going - I fight for every job. HAHAHA. Joke.

The only way they see to try to make the numbers is continual RIF’s and very deep cost cutting measures. It’s going to be very bad I feel!

All SBU’s to continue to conduct on-going RIF’s over the next few weeks in these initial waves of RIF’s. Expect waves of RIF’s to continue from now to the end of the year across all businesses and functions.

When you lay-off knowledgeable techs and hire all these Tech II’s off the street that barely have any electronics knowledge and can’t troubleshoot, how are the older product lines gonna get repaired? Especially if boards aren’t available to replace instead of troubleshooting on a component level.
A whole bunch of problems down the road awaiting to be unleashed.

You would think that production lines and development projects would have been stopped ahead of this action. The 60 hour work weeks are driving more people away than fear of RIF. I get the "dont show your hand" and the more accurate "we dont know who.." The business does know where the work has evaporated and they should be doing an orderly shut down.

Sure hope they dont think that we can continue to support all these legacy products at discount prices. You lay off the experts and cost quadrupled on your forward work.

It's unfortunately a harsh reality of the times. It isn't just in the business divisions either. Corporate teams are getting fleeced as well.

Everyone in the company should be actively recruiting a pipeline of alternate employment opportunities.
