Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Congrats on the BRAIN DRAIN now taking place. You're getting 40 year vets and new hires to volunteer to RIF.

They long time vets are sick of this constant RIF. They are gonna get paid out good. So a lot are going to leave.

Now you have a f— ton of new hires because you ramped up hiring, but all these people you spent a year training are going to jump because they get a months payoff quitting this place, then unemployment. All because you scared them away with 2 layoffs in a month.

So the people passing in the knowledge quit, the new people quit, and we still haven't found out if a layoff will happen. Highly doubt we get help in our area. I don't think we're going to make headway on the thousands of hours of past due we have if our vets and new hirings collapse.

But they still want 55 hours a week... this week. Next week it will be 60 because REVENUE, but you still get fired at random in July or August, or at least they won't tell us the criteria.

I'm gonna tough out the BS, but maybe I'll make a lost here in two weeks to say "They got me!".

So many new hires worried about job security. You really need to be a seasoned corporate survivor in this environment

@hhz

I was a 5 in the 9 block at UOP and still got RIFed. It seems everyone in my hallway also got RIFed. Your 9 block score doesn't matter.

No one is worried about brain drain in this economy at any company. There are literally tens of millions of overqualified people who are jobless and ready to take people who don' want their jobs because of the virus, and the only alternative for people who leave voluntarily is the unemployment line without the unemployment benefits. The company has everyone by the balls and they know it, and it's not like there's really a whole lot of choice. They're bleeding cash, can't pay the bills, and no one wants to take on more debt in this uncertainty. If you don't like it, someone in India is happiy willing to work 12 hours a day at $10 an hour, because the fact of the matter is if you can do your job in your PJs, ten people will cheerfully do it better overseas without the angst and sense of entitlement at five times the productivity, which will become 3000% of your productivity as they get trained up because 12 hours a day is standard. They are hungrier than you, want it more than you, are willing to work harder than you, and for a lot less. Leadership will save hundreds of millions and be handsomely rewarded for it by the board.

Correct as unfortunate as a mass layoff would be its better then this random a couple people at a time.how can anyone focus on their job with this uncertainty. Dont forget the stress of COVID-19 on top of that. So far at UOP its been people in the L. I’ve heard in Aero that didn’t matter.

I feel for you OP.

Everyone, if you can leave, do it!
If you can’t leave yet, accelerate your plans.
If you’re stuck, ask for help from others inside and outside the company to make the transition.

There’s no fixing it. Because to the leadership, it’s not broken...
