How the hell are we supposed to find a new job if we are laid off in these conditions?

Unemployment is 13.3%. Someone put down in another post that there are other aerospace companies hiring. Make sure you have a profile on LinkedIn and that it is set to show that you're looking for a new job. I've been contacted by multiple recruiters and have been interviewing for several promising positions. Stay positive and keep looking. You'll be able to find a different job, even in these tough times.
Ok first of all, the stock market and the job market for normal working people are two different things.
If you want more job security, then you need to go find work in a more stable industry and you need to get different skills.
Almost every state offers job training programs, free, to help laid off workers get new skills.
even HON offers learning oppty's. C-appy tho they are, TAKE THEM. A lot of them are free, no Mgr approval needed. Sit up late and night and learn a marketable skill ASAP.
If you have skills that are in demand, you will get a job. yes, even in a bad economy, you will get a job.
if you don't, then your first priority is to get them fast.
Depending on how badly you need a job (that is if you don't have savings and can't tide over a period of being laid off), then sometimes you have to s— it up and get skills you don't really care about to remain employable. Then when things get better for you, you can pickier about the job you look for.
But don't just sit around complaining about the company or even worse politics.
Instead take charge of your work future, learn something new, and be ready.
If you think it’s bad now at Honeywell... wait til Biden wins November, shrinks the defense budget, etc. Imagine how many federal contracts Honeywell has received simply because DA and the pres are in a relationship together. Did any of you catch the fact that DA took a ride with pres on Air Force 1 when the Phoenix visit happened? Wonder why DA didn’t put that on the home page.... these things are all a sign that the company is hanging on by a mere thread. Think of the most successful companies you know and ask yourself if this type of behavior is common.
I started getting calls the day i posted my resume. Goodbye kansas hello florida.
Stop complaining with that loser attitude. Jobs are coming back stronger than ever. Did you even see the jobs report today?? If you can't get a job in America today, then go to a socialist country and get a handout. You have to be competitive and have skills in America.
Shockingly strong jobs report?
I guess 13% unemployment is good now?
At this instant, the DIJA is up just under 1000 points due to a "Shockingly Strong Jobs Report".
Remember that Bad News sells newspapers (or their electronic equivalent these days).
The 20% includes all the folks that filed for furlough weeks. I'm hoping that the "hard" unemployment % is lower. Still think it will be bad but hoping not as bad as 20%.
Guys
Do not despair
One door closes another opens
That’s how life is.
Honeywell is just a normal run of the mill joke.
They have middle management in a posit for 2years and then move them on.how are these guys supposed to make a difference in so short a tenure.
It’s a numbers game
Better off out of honeywell if possible
Stay positive my fellow serfs. Things might seem bad now but they will get better. Things are starting to open up and flights are starting to resume again. Things will pick back up. The silver lining here is that getting laid off from this sh*thole company is probably the best thing to happen to us professionally.
I was hoping to finally leave this place with severance, now I'm dreading the possibility.
