Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

If you get laid off, you are lucky

Look, don’t be upset. Get to work, update the resume, and get your name out there. This is a blessing. Believe it or not, this dumpster fire company has the outside world nice and confused. Other companies actually see Honeywell on a resume and they get excited. For once their lies will benefit you - take full advantage. In a few weeks or months you’ll be in a new job and you’ll be happier.

I have been on the job hunt for a few weeks now and am really hoping something pop. This company says it wants to be the "employer of choice for its employees" yet has no finger on how its employees really feel, nor do they care. They plaster signs of "leadership" or preach "self management" but in reality this company, from top down, is all about micromanaging everyone. Leadership to me starts with showing your employess you care, then following through with being in the trenches with them not laying off the work force then posting mandatory 12 hour shifts for every employee. They preach "health and well being" and somehow justify this, in their minds eye, by giving the work force Sundays off. Upper management expects perfection from its factory workers every day but never hold themselves accountable to a damn thing. They expect the factory to make up for their bad planning of moving sites from one location to another. Upper management at this company is so far up their own butt they couldn't see daylight on the sun. Stop treating your factory workers as disposable trash and maybe, Just maybe, you might get production from them. I'm tired of large companies not accepting and understanding that they are in the business of people, and if your people aren't happy management won't be either. Sincerely from Stinson Minneapolis.

The OP is correct.

Job Hunt NOW while the company's aggressive PR re-branding campaign still give it the veneer of desirability to other employers.

That veneer has got to crack at some point.

The place is dreadful from the employee's POV.

I certainly hope so. I gave over 35 years of my life to this company trying my best. Now I am being treated like garbage and will be out by the end of the year. Our work is being sent to three different locations, supposedly to streamline things. Tell me how taking all of the work from one shop and dividing it among three different locations streamlines things. Good luck everyone.
