The nasdaq is littered with failed “software industrials”.
The problem here is that honeywell has no “mission”. SpaceX has “send Elon to the moon” and Google has “make the world searchable”. They tried to find a mission from the ground up. Of course it failed. Mission comes from the CEO. Honeywell’s mission is and will remain “make other people a bunch of money”. Inspiring isn’t it?
Go ask the folks from the Predix team how software industrial worked for them at GE.
This is a ten year old business plan that old men in charge think is “modern”. I wonder if D is proud he has a twitter account? So modern.
The true modern company is the one that is going to change the world....no matter what it costs. It isn’t about software or hardware anymore .. it is about a vision of something getting done that is truly impossible today. You want me to follow you? Sleep in the factory for a month, take zero salary for a decade, put your entire fortune on the line for one important goal.
So DA... what is the vision? Do you have a burning mission for honeywell? I have watched a dozen town halls and appreciate the progress you’ve made as a speaker. But right now all I see is you selling an old business plan already used by IBM and GE (blazing growth stock there!). decades late and nothing new.
Maybe, just maybe the quantum computer line will take off. Seems like the only thing new In town.
