Any rumors about the legal department? We’ve heard almost nothing & are very nervous.

Based on some comments, I think it's probably worth noting that most, if not all, of us in legal are not the ones who would represent Allstate in an employment law suit. We deal with contracts/regulatory compliance/defending lawsuits on behalf of our customers. I can't say for certain, but I'd guess that they'll hire an outside firm to deal with any lawsuits from former employees.
legal will be plenty busy since all employees were forced to sign or acknowledge to remain employed last year (prior to pending layoffs) preventing every employee from banding together in a class action suit. We were forced to forfeit our rights to join a class against mother Allstate in any way shape or form. It seems with what we now know that this was premeditated and maybe some case law exists that allows that agreement to be tossed out. let's hope.
Sad how this company has lost it way the past few years. It used to be good to be In Good Hands! All the best to everyone while we wait and hold our breath for 6 more weeks.
That’s the thing...we’re all fearing of the unknown. It’s depressing and hard to think or work. Not to mention being present with family.
I would expect legal to be quite busy when this entire sh*tshow is over and the suits know this. I would assume you all will be pretty safe and quite buried in work.

I don't know what part of legal you're in, but we were told that no SCO offices are being closed. That's pretty much 100% of the information we've been given.
