Tomorrow a voluntary layoff will be announced to the premises technicians in IBEW 21. In the Chicago area they will be offering your regular pay if you were laid off plus $5000. If you accept you will be off payroll August 13th. They are looking to get 130 technicians to take the offer. You will have until July 22nd at 5pm to submit your request. I am a first line manager and received the email from HR today.

take your 5k and run far away..the real eorkers got 83k .
5K plus whatever you would get if you were picked during a non voluntary layoff. Which depends on years of service but I think the most is 6 weeks pay. But regardless of years everyone that volunteers and is accepted will get the 5K.
Just $5k???
