Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Should a job be this stressful?

I understand no job is perfect, but working at Oracle is taking my stress levels to the extreme. And judging by the many posts here I’m far from the only one. When did this place turn from a normal working environment with occasional layoffs into this clusterf–k?

It may seem counterintuitive, but my stress level went way down and job satisfaction went way up when I stopped giving a sh.t. Seriously.
I do my job and I do my stuff right. Anything else is not my concern.

And when they send your "stuff" to India, what will you do then?

After leaving oracle 4 years back, this was the best decision i ever made.
In oracle I was feeling dead when alive!!!
The company itself seems to be soulless and ran by a group of hypocrites.
Soon they will get their way!

I would suggest looking for something else. I left Oracle after 3 yrs because it was clear where we were headed. They just riff’d most of my old team, so I was able to get out in time.

No matter how hard you work, no matter how many Oracle University courses you take, in my experience it didn’t matter. It was clear to me that I was just a number, and that is a dangerous position to be in as an employee.

I did like the freedom that I had Oracle. If you’re stressed or upset about your workload then I’m sorry to break it to you but it’s not going to get any better. My time as an engineer for Oracle was literally the easiest job that I’ve had in my adult life. The job I work now is much more fulfilling and I get regular raises and a bonus. However, I am held to higher standard than I was at Oracle. But that’s not a bad thing.

If you are just noticing this now, consider yourself lucky. This is not new. Update your resume and start looking. Literally ANY other company is better than Oracle.

Please learn to be quite, do your job on time or faster, take on more responsibility. Make yourself indispensable. Take all the Oracle University courses you can. And grow your network within Oracle. Otherwise you know where the door is, don’t let it hit you in the arse.

When human values are overpowered in the name of business ... when there is cut throat competition jut to show off and talk over each other, When you are made to behave like a slave and you should only listen to the instructions from your higher ups just like a communist country china and their rulers, and you cant talk back!
When nepotism, racism and favoritism rules - Harassment is the only common thing.
When you betray your own self Hypocrisy is what will be left!
In each and every move and talk I can only see fakery here... I see these people live as if they are permanent here and their seats will be in oracle even after their deaths in 20-30-50 years...
Luckily Coronavirus is here to teach us humans a lesson which we wont forget for coming centuries. Yes the ascension is happening and better people understand soon if we are with the truth - we are here to stay else we will be s—ling for breath in the middle of the road and die... ONLY TRUTH WINS IN THE END!!
