Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Whole Southeast Region got their assessments. All jobs to be eliminated.

Very few jobs up for grabs through the assessments for those folks. Many are upset regarding the smarmy and arrogant way they were told. By the sounds of it very mocking and degrading. They just hired new people less than two months ago. Severance and compensation opportunities still up in the air as they were told there are likely to be roles in other areas assigned in lieu of severance.

Some in Southeast did get assessments as of yesterday. Assessments will be for a few placements in AST and other areas that are taking over FSL and TSC roles which are being eliminated altogether. There are not many assessments being put out as not many roles left to offer and almost all positions of all regions are being eliminated. They are being selective in the assessments going out due to about 140 positions countrywide in the new zones for all the regional employees. If you do not get an assessment by middle of next week you are likely all but laid off.

I work in the SE region and did not receive any assessment. In fact we were told the assessments wouldn't go out until later than the original date of July 15th.

You heard! We have not got anything and it does not mean we are being eliminated. We could be safe. Claims are back up to precovid levels. They need customer facing Adjusters. I dont know who being cut, all of this is speculation. I heard a lot of things. Allstate need to stop with the evasive c-ap and say what it is. Dont nobody know ish!!

I can say that I too heard many in SE got assessments on Monday including FSL's. Maybe they haven't hit all of SE yet or those that did not get are in roles being eliminated? I can confirm though the OP's post in regards to a lot of SE getting assessment. Can't speak on the rest of OP's post.

@pwz+15WcRkhw If you get an assessment then your role is safe but at a reduced head count and based on the assessment they will keep some of you and the rest will be let go.

If you don't get an assessment at all then either:

1) Your job is being eliminated and you are a straight lay off or
2) Your role is safe at its current head count and you are not laid off.

Kind of strange, get a dreaded assessment and there is chance you are let go or retained. Don't get a dreaded assessment and either you are 100% gone or 100% safe.

If you hit another year of service during the 60 day notice i would assume that counts and is an additional 2 weeks severance. Of course 2 weeks/year is capped at 1 year max.

@yym+15WcRkhw so can you be told you are being laid off before assessments even go out? Or do you find out the standard 4-6 weeks after with everyone else? Some areas still aren't getting their assessments for another few weeks still. Sounds like not everyone gets an assessment?

@auu+15WcRkhw I agree, there has been conflicting information put out, what I have found amazing is I have been on calls heard the information put out and then heard people on the same call as me put out information that was not what we were told. It appears that most of the bad information is being distributed to claims. I can tell you there are emails that have been distributed detailing the possibilities we were later briefed on by the HR VP

@yym+15WcRkhw I fully respect and appreciate the information. However this company has talked out of multiple sides of their face many time over the last month. Even some of the same people have contradicted themselves in calls. I think there is a lot of misinformation here on these forums and from the powers that be. Maybe it is by mistake but as big of snakes as these corporate hoods are it would not surprise me if some of it is on purpose just to mess with people. These are some sick b–tards running this company.

Our area which has a low likelihood of being impacted have been told all kinds of things by HR and others. I have literally heard everything that has been posted in these forums at some point in the past 4 weeks from someone of authority. Some of it I have dismissed as BS while some of it I could see these snakes going through with some of it. We all shall see but I see things getting very ugly between the powers that be and the employees before 9/30.

I was on a call that included one of the VP's in HR, there is a lot of bad info out there, the whole process is very simple, they were quite clear on what the options were.

There are 3 (4) possibilities you can be notified of.
1) you are told you are being laid off.
2) you are being retained by the company.
3a) you get an assessment and then end up being retained.
3b) you get an assessment and are then told you are being laid off.

You are not eligible for severance with 2 and 3a since you are keeping your job.
You are eligible for severance with 1 and 3b as the company is letting you go.

If you are in the 1 and 3b group you can if you want apply to open jobs, but you are under no obligation to apply for open jobs.

You cannot be assigned a different job, you either keep your job or you lose your job.

Severance is 2 weeks for every full year completed, if your layoff date is 1 week before you would reach another year of service you are out an additional 2 weeks of severance.
