We still have an IT department? I thought that was packed up and sent to India years ago.

Does it matter ?
I’m not leaving or going anywhere. They have to send security an take me out. Even with that I will resist.
Agree, each business unit is currently formulating a strategy for cuts , basically they are putting essential jobs and divisions into one bucket and seeing if they can trim those and then the non essential into another bucket and lay those off
As other said this is an on going thing through the rest of the year, worse times will likely be right before quarterly earnings calls.
Till then enjoy the summer. When your 80 none of this sh*t will matter.
Dust is still flying everywhere. Nothing is settled. IT org has not announced cuts yet, they are still working on cuts in IT.
Why do people keep asking this? There is no answer. No one has total numbers and the whole thing is ongoing.
The meteor hit and dust is still in the air. Once it settles all dinosaurs will be extinct and att will too.
Now that the dust has settled??? Are you kidding me??? Pull your head out of the hole. This will go on for the rest of the year, if not longer. Could end up being a monthly exercise. ATT is not going to stop, until 90% of lvl 1 and 2 are gone. 2/3rds of the employee based is over 50 and WAY overpaid. “When the dust settles”...there will be a shell of a company left. 95% csuite, 5% lvl 2s pushing all the paperwork and managing offshore teams. ATT is getting lean. Getting ready to sell Warner and DTV, then get bought-out. Elliot and Csuite will make billions!!!!
The VP for my group confirmed that the lay-offs on Friday, July 10th, were just the beginning.
All business groups were not affected on Friday, and business groups that were not affected are still working out their plans.
More lay-offs are coming in July and for the rest of this year.
Crony Capitalism at its best
@OP, this is the answer from McElfresh:
Q: On what calendar date can I be comfortable that I wasn't impacted by this surplus? AKA, when will I know my job is safe?
I understand the desire for specific details around surplus activity, but I can't give you a single, definitive date, because each organization is working through their respective business and execution plans and have varying timelines.
What I can tell you is we've already begun notifying some affected non-management employees, and we will do the same for management employees in several organizations this month. The largest impacts to ACC management employees will take place in July and those notifications began on Friday, July 10.
The dust has not settled, and it won't be till 1Q21. Hope I'm wrong, but it's looking like it's going to be like last Friday, on a bi-weekly basis till the end of 4Q20, based on where they are now, and when they will hit the target of 100K. I would at least prepare myself for all that if I was anyone under the employ of AT&T, unless your L5 and up, or family and friends’ member. That is the only protected class, the Elitists, to use a Marxist term.
My former colleague from formerly PCG said 2/3 of our mutual sales colleagues are gone from Global, National Business select/mids/smb,; and acquisition from both Global (mfg, retail, vertical markets) and National Business,
