After surviving fri 7/10 cuts, my usa group's survivors treated to a conf call beatdown today telling us that if we don't help facilitate moving all of our work out of usa to India asap, we may as well just leave at&t now. Mumbai m—acre, New Delhi death squad, Bombay beatdown. Where are the news crews covering this? USA jobs leaving at&t daily now.

I hear indian accents all day long at at&t, every day. That doesn't make me mad. I simply know what my usa team was told by an exec on a very recent team call. Our work is being moved from usa to india asap. That fact is what upsets me, not the accent it was delivered in. Funny how you don't seem to believe this for some reason, and you mistake for prejudice the basic fact that i'd really like to keep my usa job.
Admit it. You really don't know if any jobs are leaving. You just heard an Indian accent and got mad.
i remember going to strike training with someone who was destined to be surplussed as his groups was going Czechslovakia (citrix server support) AT&T still made go to thatctraining even though he was in the 69 day window.
Yes, this really happened on monday. It's a small group of usa management survivors who each have a target on their back. All work still done by the group planned to go to India asap. Directly told such by exec in survivor group call monday. Much of group's work already has moved to india from usa in past 3 years. Exec's now just trying to figure out how to get the remaining complex work there. Soon, they'll just throw it there, see what blows up on them, then hope to fix it. That's what exec's do who are terrified of hedge funds and wall street. They reach a point of desperation where even a dumb move is looked upon as better than no big changes at all.
When they call from india, you can do what they do. Spend several minutes verifying their identity and verifying the information in the ticket. They hand them off to someone else because you don't know anything. Worthless! "You get what you pay for" which is unfortunate for ATT and its customers.
Did this really happen? Or is this wild imagination day?

Got the sad emails from former colleagues that they were whacked Friday.
Today, I get emails from newbies over in Mumbai asking me for information as they know nothing.
