Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

2020

Luckily I was able to leave late last year but in reading some of the posts there seems to be shock at these cuts. We were told 4-5 years ago that this would be a bad year. Not justifying the bad decisions made by the executives or who and how the cuts are being made. Luckily I was in a org that this was openly talked about. Probably some of that was scare tactics but AVP’s and Directors were open about the fact that they were told it was coming.

I worked for At&t for 6 years and left at the end of 2018. I worked in Business Mobility at a call center. The huge push then was the big 2020 vision. Our director which was an overall id–t did have sense to say the brick and mortars would be gone because of expense. Well I guess they are working on getting that done. Everyone thinks mobility is "safe" but part of that 2020 was cutting back customer service to about 20 percent. They said online and automation would take care of the customer. I think there will still be some interesting changes made around At&t. I'm sorry for the people that lost their jobs and will loose their job. Imo people need to stop paying all those union dues. What are they doing? I doubt they can do much really.

Yeah this is workforce 2020 that they have been working on for several years. This is only thing our top can come up with. But this is not the ens, same people are still leading the company so the gap between att and others will only het bigger. Good luck with paying off that debt

Detox is a great way to put it - hard to get all the cesspool slime off you.

@dfv, perhaps the best advice to follow for anyone who was jettisoned out of the Death Star. I call it De-tox your mind and body of the decades of the toxic slime you've been swimming in over the last several decades.

Best advice is : When you leave. LEAVE! Go fishing or travel, read a book, write a book. Get this crud out of your head and out of your life
