Expecting to see something for the SW prem techs come out this week or next. I'm sure it will be a volunteer offer first followed by a surus, but this reorg has been the biggest sh– show. There's something strange about this one very very little is being told to the L1's and L2's

Good luck everyone

Things must have changed outside. Remember telling my boss that I didn’t need to replace a couple of losses due to workload. Was told the requisitions would be put in due to maintaining headcount. Of course he stayed on my butt about meeting numbers.

I feel a need to tell everyone that the days of predictive surpluses are a thing of the past. The every quarter thing is now to be done away with. All manager will now be responsible to report when there are extra positions not needed. So, I guess you will never know when your time is up. I hate to be such a downer. But they have widdled away big chunks and now the clean up it to start. So always be prepared and try not to be surprised. This is the way most big companies are anyway.

If your a union member its in the contract, next date for this s?!t is September around the 15th so you can be off payroll by end of the year!
If your management well they can let you go whenever they feel like it!

My org EG has been laying off 2-4 times per year since the DirecTV merger. Our last round was May 15 release (postponed from april due to covid). We havent seen any new Layoffs but November 16 is a popular date. We always expect one in Nov.

If you are going to post specific timeframes, then please identify the segment and/ or organization you currently reside. Thank you.

I've heard many things, but last Friday was the start, and that there could be more throughout this next week, but in lesser numbers, I think due to the fact that there are so many getting laid off, and that they are personally calling them and not a shotgun phone call and a script read. How touching. Don't know if that is true. Then I heard that next September 4Q20 they will have another, I see it as the final lay off of the great 2020 vision being fully executed. And we are to then reach something like 100K employees. Also, that needs to be fact checked. May God bless all who got hit, and may he bless those to get hit. These are tough times, and this is adding insult to injury.

I was told in June to expect our group to get hit mid July. So far, nobody has been let go. The "mid July" was updated to "early August" in another meeting...so I expect we're not done with the current round.

November is when bids are in for contracted work in OSP.....so big cuts coming in MW. Contractors are expected to handle 90 percent of work. It was a good run while it lasted.

I figure they're giving me a couple of months to train the overseas contractor who is being lent to us to quote-unquote help out. Then I will be out on my a–.

September and November make sense & like someone else said, they love giving out pink slips for Christmas.

I would think around November December timeframe just as a gift for the holidays.
