The percentage of workers that were just released that are in the 50+ years of age range is mind boggling. Someone really needs to take a look at this statistic. If these jobs are shipped off to overseas support centers; AT&T should be fined appropriately. While their customers will surely vote with their feet; National Security is compromised when a primary provider of telecommunication, data and mobility services relies on foreign companies and governments to manufacture their equipment, manage their services and ensure connectivity. Just sayin'...

If you want your severance, you sign a document that you will NOT sue T. That is why T still pays any severance.
Besides, T fights lawsuits until the plaintiff dies. The only one that makes any $ out of lawsuits are the lawyers. They get millions while you will get enough for a breakfast at Denny's.
Only Ratty gets a good pension.
" Post the data on a website so that everyone can see the results and do an analysis id desired and maybe send it to the news media and or employment attorneys"
OK. Who are you directing to do this? Give me the UID so I can Q them. Thanks
I know an employee 69 years old with 37 years of service, and his 16 person level 2 peer group under a level 3 director (in Lab/Andre) is not impacted by this 7/10/20. Just a FYI only. Not show my pro or con.

I know an employee 68 years old 22 years of service and he is still there.
If u are surplused you have the legal right to ask AT&T for a copy of the FINAL list of employee data for terminated employees. They are required to update the age/title, etc data AFTER the last employees are off payroll. THAT is the list u take to an attorney. Look up Console Law Firm. Past cases. They have fought for AT&T employees & WON.
I’m 40 and have consistently been one of if not the youngest person in my region most of my career. Prior to COVID I’d say average age of employee in my building was 50+ so it only makes sense that the majority of people impacted by this lay-off would be 50 or over. Just look at TFS, C&E, Regional & National support teams. They are filled with employees between 45-55, other than few Prem Techs and handful of managers hired before they discontinued the LDP the youngest managers around are in their 40’s. If the surpluses only impacted employees over 60 you might have a case but even then the company can simply say they worked in wrong state or they were low performing in their group. After all managers are “employees at will” so I guarantee HR built a solid business case on impacted employees to cover the companies a–.
all the reorgs funnel the older workers into the affected work groups targeted for layoff, hence the reason why everyone in the affected work group is over 50. jobs with a future are done by the younger ones or off shore.
yeah with this pandemic I am hoping companies start learning to bring back manufacturing to the usa. all this china c-ap at every store is nothing more than screw the customer while the ceos and boards pocket the profits.
“Take the reports showing the ages of the laid-off workers to an employment attorney that represents employees/plaintiffs”
Ok. How should I get those reports? Maybe just call Stank and ask nicely, or what?
Certainly something to look into if you think that's happened, of course.
Same time, almost everyone in my org of 100s of people is 50+. I wonder if the company is just skewed so hard to older workers that it's impossible not to let go of mostly older employees?
Take the reports showing the ages of the laid-off workers to an employment attorney that represents employees/plaintiffs.
