Would someone be able to estimate the overall number of layoffs that took place this week?

McElfresh has mentioned cutting $1.5B in salaries. That would be 20k at $75k/year.
About 20,000-25,000 from now till end of year. But this includes more layoffs that will happen in next 5 months. That also includes unions. Then expect similar number of cuts for next year.
25-35%
An executive manager told me that yesterday’s riff was a total of twenty-nine thousand souls worldwide. Dare not them blame this on the pandemic. They had it planned long before March 2020.
Gotta pay off the Warner $163Billion dept “so stockholders will get the dividend they are expecting”... why on earth did they even buy Warner... no one in my Management understands the “company’s direction”.
35%
go into Amplify, take the total number reporting to McElfresh, then compare it after 7/24, you will get an idea of the layoff this week.
I got the call yesterday. The layoffs were massive, whole teams, many orgs received haircuts. Higher paid L2 management employees clearly targeted. No official word of the total, but easily 10k people were cut this past week. AT&T business, retail, and formerly DTV appeared to be hit the hardest.
