First DTV should have never been bought in the first place. Second ATT waited too long to cut the excess fat. Verizon cut 15k-20k of jobs in 2018. Because they did it early they were able to pay a severance and incentives

I'm not sure what the OP is trying to say. After the deathstar conquered and occupied DTV there was a MASSIVE round of layoffs. And another the quarter after that. And a few more after that.
It's not like T bought DTV then went on a hiring spree.
