Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Aren't we supposed to be leaders in 5G?

Or something like that... Then what are these numbers all about?

T-Mobile has almost 20 times more 5G cities than AT&T and Verizon combined,

and

Verizon was by far the fastest in speeds,

No, we've stepped back and let Verizon and TMobile take the lead.

But we are leading the pack in virtue signaling to everyone how incredibly woke we are!!!

5G isn't entirely about speed. It's about efficient use of spectrum, which allows very fast speeds in the higher spectrum range. At lower bands, it allows better coverage per tower. The coverage aspect is what TMO focused on. ATT focused on high speeds with 1-block range.

Guess which flavor is suspected of spreading COVID? Follow the money, and you'll see that high speed 5G is pushed by the CWA to encourage people to stay home and buy fiber to the home internet.

Well VZ is deploying real 5G with high frequencies and true 5G speeds. All the rest are deploying low band low bandwidth 5G, which basicly just changes the transmission technology. No real improvements. T said from the start not to expect any better speed to the LTE-Advanced, or 5Ge. It has just became a marketing buzz word. They might as well start calling it 6G.

If you believe the BS T-Mobile is pushing you are part of the problem. At least half the cities they say they have 5G in are only getting 4G speeds and some even 3G speeds. Yes, Verizon and AT&T will be “late to the party” but they will pull up driving a rolls Royce wearing Gucci meaning they spent time and money on their networks.

AT&T spends over $20B annually on capital upgrades. Most of the 5G money went to build out First Net. We will catch up eventually.

Ratty and Stinky cut the capital budgets and everything got hit, well except for their compensation!

So what do you expect when there is insufficient $ to build? TMOB greatly appreciated that $5B Ratty paid them!
