Hmmmm
Sending out 2 or 3 social engineering emails a day
No one is mentioning all the horrific management in place buying up business upon business for BBBBBILIIONS of dollars and not successful. DIRECTV $49B TMMOBILE $4B. Time Warner $85B. DEBT DEBT DEBT. Not to mention that he buying of NCR and the IPO of AT&T wireless, sell it & then buy back. We the employees didn’t create this debt! What happened to the )21B in tax reductions received in Trumps tax bill. Promised new job, no didn’t happen. This place is a disaster. I couldn’t be busier but I may get the call. Oh well.
To the OP, from the mouth of 6IX9INE.......

Because att is built on a house of cards and about to collapse. 1st & 2nd level managers are brought in to manage people in areas of the business they have no experience in and are not at all familiar with. Take Business Field Services in IT operations for example...managers are clueless and don’t know anything about what their people even do for the business unit! This is not an equation for success. Just fill the positions, realign the business every 6 months or so and pray. I know this first hand. T is adrift in a big sea without any clear direction. Good luck to all because you’ll need it down the road!
Not enough suction
The biggest is probably competition. If t-mobile is able to do damage with 50% less people then the question becomes why aren't we 50% ahead of them
Its about ROI (return on investment). You no longer bring a positive ROI. As you get older and dont continue to pick up new skills you become like an out of date technology. The company can downsize you to save expense dollars. They can pick up younger workers much cheaper that have more skills than you do. Your best defense is to upgrade yourself. Become the latest model the company cant do without. Think about your iPhone from 2010. You paid a lot for it and it did a lot of good for you. It entertained you. Its now obsolete and no longer picks up security patches. Keeping it could cost you if you get hacked. So you will go out and buy a new one and get rid of the old one. Dont be an old iPhone.
half of the employees are worthless and don’t even put in any effort at all.
To reduce the workforce. It's not good business to pay workers where there isn't enough work for them.
Because it's fun?
Poor performance from C suite level execs and those making the all important decisions.
Wait, I thought you were asking why AT&T is laying off.
So you can be set free
More money for the suits
Really? Are you serious?
