Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

COB Thursday and nothing yet. Does anyone know how this will be going down?

I would have thought there would be meetings scheduled in advance of the big announcements but as of COB today nothing. Does anyone have any information on how the numerous communications are going to be handled?

Very painful for a person like me working for more than 25 years and going through this every year.. I know BP of lot of our colleges are at its peak now. But this company always protets their family and friends.. I was told that amid all these frustrations an Atlanta based team is adding a new AD to the their team.. Can you believe it.. With the company talking about BLM and diversity, do you think this team will consider it..I dont think so. They wanted to protect somebody and HR mjust support it.. BS

This will be wave 1 of the mass culling. You might survive tomorrow, but there are at least 3 more waves coming. Buckle up, order up some anti depressants, and add to your savings while also cost cutting. Good luck. Tomorrow is going to s—.

The worst part is waiting out the slow pull of the trigger. After the blast, the wondering and waiting is over. After that moment, I will still have a full time job. It will be to find another job. Likely at less pay, but very possibly a lot more enjoyable. Life goes on, thank heavens.

Different groups/departments/business units or whatever the hell T calls them (I despise the terms "ream" and "org" in context with T) will hear at different dates.

For instance, I'm in the BBV group. We've heard nothing but the threats. No specifics at all for over a month now.

At least others know their fate. Most of us are still twisting in the wind.

You will be notified in the morning. Good luck to everyone but that is reality.

Cuts will continue indefinitely and a lot of people will be cut who will hear AFTER tomorrow. Even if you survive tomorrow that does not mean you are safe. Do you really think tomorrow is the end-all be-all date? It’s absolutely not. The dust hasn’t settled on numerous reorganizations yet. Span of control is still being discussed and some orgs are still trying to determine the outcome of the craft offer. So this is far from over. No one is safe, so get used to it.

At least they are doing it in the morning and not waiting until late in the day.

What about AVP’s? I don’t see them escaping, and none have been notified yet or left (unlike VP’s and above).

Those impacted will get a call in the morning informing them they will be off payroll 7/24, boss will provide specific details. HR might be on the calls as well, if not your boss will notify HR once everyone in their group has been covered. After everyone impacted within a VP group has been notified (most likely prior to noon eastern time) all those not impacted or “safe” will receive an email from their respective VP mid afternoon. This will impact management levels 1-3, we’ve been told the numbers will be significant however the VP’s will not provide specifics for each group. The Directors through VP have already had meetings, submitted rankings and feedback to HR. Majority of managers aren’t saying a word but few bosses have been open with their people. Unfortunately many people will be caught off guard tomorrow morning. This is going to be a massive layoff.

The meetings happened a while back. Check your emails/voicemails for mandatory meeting this evening or through the night. Or, you can wait until in the morning. That is how it is normally done.
