Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

ADEA listing, where to find?

I recall seeing a list during the last round of reductions that listed positions affected, along with the age of the affected individuals. Does anyone know how to find that or is it available to us?

I have only seen those spreadsheets when colleagues were wacked and they were given them and shared them.

It was totally disgusting that T was clearly practicing age discrimination and their own data proves it.

But if you want the severance one of the things you sign is you waive your rights to sue T in any way. If you are young and don't have much service and don't get much severance T is not concerned about age discrimination for you. If you are in the "protected age class" one of the reasons T has not totally eliminated the severance as they would be flooded with lawsuits and it would cost them more to fight them than what they currently pay in severance.

Besides, T has a habit of fighting class action lawsuits forever until the plaintiffs die. The only ones that make anything out of these lawsuits are the lawyers.

If you do a search in your inbox, you will find an email dated from Nov 15, 2019 from News Now titled "Announcing the ATO and GCSC Management Voluntary Offer". In the contents, there is a link to ADEA listing showing the titles, age, NOT Eligible status, and Eligible status.

This is the document OP is asking about.

As correctly stated below, if you are laid-off, you will be given information about others who also are laid-off.

Keep that information—it may provide grounds for a discrimination lawsuit.

In a past lay-off, AT&T lost a lawsuit, on the ground that the lay-off information that it provided was meaningless (AT&T is required to provide the information under anti-discrimination laws).

No, this is not the WARN notification. During the last round a list was attached in one of the distributions showing ages and positions/titles.

Its called WARN. The Worker Readjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) is a law that requires employers to provide employees experiencing employment loss with a 60-day notice prior to a layoff, although some exceptions apply. The WARN protects workers, their families, and communities from the impact of mass layoffs. Can look it up for your state.

Note: Executive Order N-31-20 (PDF) temporarily suspends the 60-day notice requirement in the WARN Act. Visit COVID-19: WARN FAQs for more information.

It is a list an employer would provide to US EEOC that enforces ADEA and investigates complaints.
