I am in NBR ACQ. Members of my team have gotten emails over the weekend informing them that their access to buildings has been removed. Another team member called into SSO for assistance and was told that their UID was no longer active. The former could just be a move to Work From Home post COVID but the latter?

This is a process problem. It is not surplus related.
This means you get arrested and put in a choke hold if you try to get in that building. Good luck. Just dont fight back, or steal their taser and run. Not a good strategy most of the time.

Access needs to reaffirmed on a regular basis, and some building "owners" will k–l access that has been unused for a given period of time or not at all.
Happened to me once. I was cut the next quarter.
From what I have heard an entire team with different hire dates including the SM and a number of other L1 sellers had their access deleted to every site they had on their badge on the same day.
I got email today too....about access being removed for a building in Chicago. I’m craft....so I didn’t read much into it. BUT I know I’m supposed to get the early offer ....so I’m wondering now if this was from the SIPP offer??

This place is such a complete clusterf#ck. Can't even lay off its workers with out completely screwing everything up.
I’ve seen that happen when a surplus is fixing to be announced or a retirement or building move.
There could be an innocent explanation ( although unlikely). I was surplus'd last year and was a full-time telecommuter but I had building/badge access to I think 3 buildings (of course when I was still an employee - LOL). Two of them were different MSC/CO buildings nearest me and one was my former office building. I recall, I think yearly, my AM would ping me about building access and would share a link from SAM (i think that was the badge/access website?) and had to recertify every year whether to keep access.
It may also have kicked out a report that so-and-so hasn't been in the building in x number of days. In either case, the AM would get a report to re-authenticate access was needed.
So something like the second case mentioned (no email or other notification) may be the days with no access. Since the Covid-19, aren't a lot of folks telecommuting these past months? It could just be the number of days, I'm sure that is automated. There's my positive thought for the day.
