Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

For 30 plus years

I have had Allstate insurance for my 30 plus years of employment with the company. Even though I knew I was paying significantly higher and did not always feel process changes were process friendly...
Felt it was important to show loyalty to the company where I worked...
The company took that loyalty and burned it. Effective last Friday, I am with Geico. Paying almost 400.00 less on my auto and 100.00 less on homeowners even with the employee discount....
I will also be moving my other business when I have time to shop around.........
I hope that other employees do the same and that it happens with enough significance to affect those margins that Wilson and Shapiro value so highly....

Loyalty doesn't get you anywhere! I was an Allstate customer 29 years. I had a few home claims and one auto, so was very profitable. They don't care. They still got my manager to trump up allegation of non-performance and fired my Over 50-self to replaced by a 35 year old who got a new title and a huge raise.

I am no longer a customer and moved to Liberty Mutual for over $400 plus annual savings.

Geico rules. Saved 75% on 3 vehicles. I wanted to kick myself for not doing so sooner. I could have done so much on the thousands of dollars saved. I was with a greedy agent before but never again will I go back to agent-based insurance.

I moved to Geico. Haven’t had that experience at all. Something tells me Allstate would have handled the same situation even worse than Geico did.

I wish I had the same luck as the OP, I have a perfect driving record and same coverage almost no one can beat what I have now with Allstate, I have a few friends that work for other companies (state farm and nationwide), State Farm friend said even with the cuts on rates they took he still can't beat the rates I have, and Nationwide she said they just finished some changes and would wait to see how everything ends up with them, so I may call her back in a few months.

Geico could beat Allstate, but I just can't go with them, when my car was hit by one of their insureds it took them 2 weeks to get someone to get back to me, claimed it was my fault even after they had the police report saying their guy ran the stop sign, then they fought with the body shop on parts that needed to be replaced.

I moved to Geico. They don’t take a week to see vehicles.

I've NEVER had Allstate Insurance (nor Encompass nor eSurance) for two reasons. First of all- do you really want your job tied to your insurance policy; in this real case right now, we may lose our jobs, so why give back to the business?

But the second reason is this- if you ever had to file a UM/UIM claim, do you really want to have to SUE your own employer?
