Thread regarding Hertz layoffs

This place is a hotbed of nepotism

That's how it's been functioning for the past several years, and that's how it'll end. By making sure all the good employees are screwed over while the select few walk away with everything. Nobody still here should be surprised by this.

I wish there was something we could do to change that, but we're sadly out of luck.

Its been like that for years. If you were on the good side with the right people you were in. The ZVP in the SW region was the worst in promoting unqualified people. But eventually it catches up to you. A bunch of the flunkies all got terminated when a new regional manager took over and realized how clueless they were. The annual reviews were also a sham! Nothing related toyour goals and objectived more like a popularity contest. S—s that they mess with your livelyhood like that.

You can be the ideal employee. Put in extra hours, take on extra tasks but it won’t matter if your not one of the chosen.
Favoritism is something I saw almost immediately from my time there.
I did try for a year to overlook it. When promotions and raises were handed out to the ones that didn’t work, missed time, had bad attitudes it forced me to quit.
It was one of the worst toxic work cultures I ever encountered.
