Do you think, with all contracts in place AT&T could by any chance selling the wireline of business/legacy products. I could be wrong but from what hearing from the Town halls is more 50% will work from home, saving money for AT&T ON REAL ESTATE COST, all so we need to spend on wireless and BUSINESS FIBER. All the rest is what we need to look at, an force customers to what we want for them...

ATT’s biggest problem is that they have no idea how to be a truly competitive company. A massive company that’s over a hundred years old, it has products that are in every stage of the life cycle. Rather than maximize earnings, management constantly tries to narrow its focus on only the shiny new products, meanwhile, they neglect products that are no longer fashionable or that are in-decline. In doing so, they leave billions and billions of dollars sitting on the table for cable companies to pick up at their leisure. Their obsession with wireless and fiber is so extreme that they aggressively downplay all other voice and broadband services... which they own! It’s nonsensical, but they literally do not care about revenue generated by legacy products.
They could go divestiture. They don't need a buyer that way. They have landline, VOIP and cell phone. They have DirectTV and OTT tv. They have wired and wireless internet.
That has always looked like a recipe for divestiture to me.
You couldn’t pay someone enough to take wireline. Besides top management has always been under the false impression that their network is top notch across the board and worth a premium. They would never offer it up at a price that would be conducive to a purchase.
The federal government, since they have bought our bonds and now they can take our wireline. Just add it all to the federal debt.

There is no one with any money left to buy. No one dumb enough to buy this poorly maintained plant either.
We are too late to that game. Frontier bought up a bunch of wireline territory and now they are bankrupt.
Just like what all the other big telcom giants did, sold off their wireline to those who can take it and maintain it better and cheaper than us did so and are doing fine today. I recall Randall at one time about 7-8 years back, saying things like "...if they want our wire, then they can buy it, we are all about wireless" Yet, all the other smart guys sold their wire plant but us. SMDH.
