I started looking for a new job when they threw a big party congratulating our site for getting to HOS Silver and told us that we were a huge success story that was really leading the way, followed a few days later by announcing involuntary furloughs for the weeks before Christmas.
I also saw them deliberately (I say this because it was a known issue before I started and continued after it was escalated for years afterwards) hire Engineers as Engineer IIs, and then give them a "salary adjustment" to give them the minimum salary possible when the "mistake" was noticed when it was time for them to get a promotion. This also erases any documentation that you advanced in your role. I was told by my manager that I should request to have it fixed and years later I was told I wasn't a good candidate for a promotion because I had been demoted in the past. I asked HR to fix this. The same HR person brought up my "demotion" during my exit interview.
Other companies around the region do not seem to look highly on the company nor the engineering team and management despite there being very solid talent buried beneath the bureaucracy, red tape, and low pay filter that screens out most qualified candidates.
They do not have your interest at heart. They are not a good stepping stone company. If you have other options take them.

Thank you. I've noticed the mcdonald's-ness of aerospace penny pinching they do. Most disheartening to see companies do nothing but dangle a carrot.
