7/10 ... 49% of our vps group was cut including the VP, many directors, and many managers in business solutions product group. The folks who remain are not viable to run the business that was being run therefore many products will be eliminated. There are many super smart folks in this group of folks cut. The amount of knowledge and experience lost is mind boggling. I think we are now seeing a death spiral for AT&T. The new company leadership have a hive mentality and have no vision. Maybe the companies who can buy the bits and pieces will.

I was part of the 7/10 layoffs. I am 3 weeks from turning 62. I have been in sales Small business for 12 years. Recently called Acquisitions. No new job offers in fiber or mobility. In our org it was mainly 52 plus years of age white males. We were pressured to continue to call on customers during the current COVID-19 pandemic and were warned to make our sales goals or risk losing our job. Now saying that, no one directly ordered me to go on sales calls but it was highly encouraged directly from VP level. The stress of the pandemic and surplus rumors for several months has been mentally stressful. I am retired disabled Vet. My job pros purse limited.

I can confirm July 10th is the date for the official surplus announcement (under Andre Fuesch). Ignore the noise.

I see a lot of people saying to move to mobility. If you do (and a job is better than no job) get ready. Especially if you move to Business Mobility. It will s— the rest of your soul out.

In digital July 10th is the target date to give surplus notices. AVP did say that it could be delayed a week depending how things go.

94% of the company will make it through this cut. it won't be spread evenly. some groups will be gone or absorbed. if they can offshore you cheaper without too much risk that the work gets too messed up, they will in this round, or a future one.

Re “ Apply for available jobs or talk to a manager or director in mobility”, not to be a wet blanket here but we’ve been getting cut in Mobility as well, all too often. I expect that we will next month as well (RAN engineering)

Anyone have any information on when Legg will do his reductions? I understand he was delayed until August or September.

FYI to the most recent poster, this entire company is not comprised of your shop (business sales?).

July 10th is when it will happen. While people shouldn’t sit around wondering and worrying, they should prepare. Apply for available jobs or talk to a manager or director in mobility. Don’t leave it up to others to decide. You’ll either be doing mobility or mass markets. You have a possibility of fiber if you are in region.

Until I get a call saying I’m gone or saying I’m safe, I really have learned not to put much weight into what is said here. It’s just not worth the time worrying, it doesn’t put you in a better position.....just a worst mindset. Keep your heads up everyone!

Determining factors include 2019 and 2020 attainment and last years review, plus a few other things. In some cases select teams will have priority for jobs over regional. If you can snag a job ahead of the 10th do it.

It’s already decided. What you brought to work every day for the last 5 years was the determining factor. Not a last desperate move to call very VP you know and grovel.

If you are in regional and have a lot of select people in your area, definitely apply for mobility jobs, and reach out to people to get interviews this week, as quickly as you can. If you can’t find Jobs listed in your area, reach out to that mobility director or AVP to find out jobs available. Don’t wait. CSE, SM, GM or AVP Are not above being surplussed. Everyone is tight lipped and no one really knows who is affected because the VPs have signed nondisclosures. Be smart. Having a job is better than no job. In the meantime, keep in asking any questions you can to your boss and your bosses boss. Ask HR. Don’t sit back and hope. Be proactive. Unless someone you feel is in the know and can trust tells you you are safe, be proactive and reach out to the leader ship that has positions. they might not be posted yet, but they might need to be reposted.

No one knows FYI, stack ranking is most likely done. Now it’s just a matter of HR/legal signing off.

If CNN is sold, I would buy AT&T stock. Until then, it’s a short at best until it follows Frontier into bankruptcy.

Hopefully we do hear on 7/10 and they don’t make us wait longer. Seems like AVP level (level 4) decisions are taking longer than expected, then levels 3, 2, 1....

Until 4th Qtr 2020, then again 1st Qtr 2021, 3rd or 4th Qtr 2021, 1st Qtr 2022.... and on and on and on until 250,000 employees is reduced down to 100,000 employees, 90% of buildings have been sold off, legacy services no longer exist or just stop being maintained and we’ve sold off DirecTV for pennies on the dollar and spin off two thirds of Warner Media selling off a little at a time in an effort to keep profit margins artificially inflated and keep paying the all mighty dividend as long as possible.
