Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Layoffs explained for those on the Kool-aid

Th people saying these layoffs make sense after the Trump corporate tax breaks Allstate received and the stock buybacks are company boot licking sheep.
Everyone who is a loyal, hard working active Allstate employee should be angry at how this was handled.
*”That’s just Capitalism” , keep telling yourself this is right and morally sound. Keep drinking that blue Allstate Kool-aid.
*“the company has to do this to stay competitive”. Um no, look at stock buy back and profit reports. It’s public record and borderline criminal. How about cutting the GREED at the top.
*”well it’s a pandemic and they are losing money”. No, they are paying out LESS in all areas and still getting that money monthly premium $ from customers, some loyal since Allstate started.

***but those old fossils at the top need 19 million a year to pay their 4 mortgages and yacht bills.

FYI Allstate didn’t return premiums to customers out of the kindness of their hearts. The insurance commission made them. Stop thinking this company cares about its workers, culture, diversity and transparency. You are not an asset, you are an expense. This a horse and pony show for the insurance commission. They just want premium $$$ from loyal customers to invest, everything we do costs them money and is seen as an expense. It’s 1000% about investing premiums in stocks to make them even more than the INSANE salaries. Period.
You are not in good hands. You’ve been lied to.

Try GEICO. Guarantee their rate will be better than what you have with Allstate. You may have to bundle and move everything, but it will be lower.

Anyone else so p-ss-d at this whole layoff they try to switch to another insurance company? I am looking at a layoff and felt betrayed by the company so why should they keep my business if they are going to screw me? I figured I would screw them as well so Friday I called and got quotes, turns out if I switch right now I screw myself, I tried State Farm, Farmers (that was a joke), AMFAM, and Nationwide, State Farm was the closest but if I switch I increase my expenses when looking at being out of work. Do other insurance companies give a discount to employees?

Speaking of Kool-Aid, read the Linkedin posts from mid to upper level positions at both Esurance and Allstate and their Kool-Aid talk about looking forward to "exciting times!" with the merging of Esurance to Allstate. No mention of layoffs. Blatant kiss ups. No one has the guts to comment about layoffs.

I am an Allstate customer and retired employee. When all this starts I and my family members who also have Allstate and some who are employees FOR NOW will be canceling both auto and homeowners. For them to do this at this time is pathetic. I’m sure this will cause a lot of policyholders to go elsewhere.

Profit is one thing. Remaining competitive is another. The kool aid you refer to is one sided.

They never posted Wilson’ a first broadcast and I was out that week - never heard it from the horses mouth. I don’t think they wanted it leaked to the media. Why else did they chose not to post it?

The officers at the top are selling their shares of ALL. Why should we have any faith in the company if they don’t?

The sad thing is, they are alienating their customers and losing their footing by making these decisions. They may see short term gains, which is probably all Tom Wilson cares about if he’s on the way out, but Allstate will be bled dry and suffer long term.

I hear from 20+ year policyholders every day that they feel it is disgraceful we are outsourcing so many jobs to other countries. I have had to listen to countless calls where customers are calling and the language barrier is so bad it’s like they’re talking to a wall, with absolutely no support or resolution for their issues. We’re supposed to give them a spiel about how we value diversity and we’re a global organization. These customers cancel their policies...

I wonder why we’re losing rank? Who knows, let’s double down on our bad decisions!

We are the lifeblood of this company, and we drive it’s success every single day. The parasites and leeches only care about lining their pockets.

I’m embarrassed to work for this company now. Allstate itself is not inherently evil, but the people at the top making these decisions are. Sad.

This is 💯 accurate
The people defending the cuts are the high-ups in the Chicago burbs.
Like it says below, Allstate is Enron lite. 😆
