Protecting the employment rights of veterans is a responsibility of DOL's VETS. VETS protects service members' reemployment rights when they are returning from a period of service through its administration of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 (USERRA)

I'll take the maximum 6 months of pay to avoid headaches and having no income for that time to figure things out.

They'll just keep delaying a decision and that'll cost you a bundle in lawyer fees if any lawyer even consider your suit for small potatoes.

You forgot the biggest one... civil rights act of ‘64

None of which apply when a company like this one lays off 40% of its staff. Hard to claim you were target of discrimination when literally half the company was let go (aero)
