Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

More cases of COVID, Not everyone who is exposed gets notified and quarantined

I know of several new COVID cases. Management won’t confirm who tests positive due to privacy, but Honeywell always sends out that canned email message that “an investigation was done and those exposed have been notified.” I know for a fact that they are not really notifying all of the exposed because we can figure out who works close to who... and they would rather keep the people on the job and not lose manpower. F— all of the employees who have vulnerable family members at home!

@cdg, nice message. Unfortunately, trying to get through to soulless entities like @jyw is like casting pearls before swine.

JYW, you sound like a real jerk. First there are a lot of people born with genetic predisposition to something, like say... type a blood? Some underlying conditions are in fact genetic in nature, and have nothing to do with lifestyle. But beyond that, part of protecting the public health and taking these measures seriously, is to avoid the asymptomatic spread of this virus to others, who may then spread asymptomatically to yet others, we might never have met, but might be vulnerable. That should matter to ALL of us.

We also need to think of our healthcare workers, our doctors, and other essential workers, and we should all be concerned about protecting them too. What about people right now will have to be in a hospital, can’t have visitors, mothers and fathers, grandfathers and grandmothers, we can have no one at their side of their last days because many hospitals are restricting guests. And wisely so. What about people who have not been able to mourn their dead during this time? You seem to have no compassion in your heart for them either.

Please wake up. This is not just about your own personal stats or risk. Please wake up. This is not just about your own personal stats or risk. We are communities, we are a society, it should go without saying that we do the right thing to protect each other, all our families, all our friends, all our neighbors and the society we make up.

If you don’t feel that way, I think you need to take a long look in the mirror. You may not like what you see looking back at you!

@jyh. Sue for criminal negligence?

Just what crime has been committed?

How many of the folks identified with Covid especially on phoenix with so many not bothering to be careful outside of work?

Go ahead, pay a lawyer.

I know, completely shut down the business and those of you still working can join those of us who would be glad to come back.

There isn't anywhere in the US that has enforced contact tracing. You are allowed to refuse to give any information regarding your contacts.

Here in Clearwater, as new cases pop up, the number of people that the person had close contact with varies from report to report. In one case the person was in close contact with 5 people and they all went into quarantine. One of those five eventually tested positive, and that was reported. I believe every single case that has been reported, the person testing positive was asymptomatic. We didn't have any cases until very late May, and it seems like every week since we've had new cases being reported. Just this week the made mandatory mask use for everybody in the building with only a few exceptions (eating, in a closed door office, etc.). Have to be wearing a mask to enter a building.

Anyone that works on site and ends up in the hospital should sue the c-ap out of HW for criminal negligence. The way they are running the show is pure incompetence. Class action is needed. This whole no notification because of privacy is a bunch of bs that will bite them in the a–.

Yup, Florida and Texas are shutting down all bars in those states today. People just don't have a clue how serious this is.

Deer Valley employees were told this week we can't enter the building without manager permission, so it must be really bad.

Oh ya. All 0.4% of people around me are in danger. We all know someone who has died of covid right? ....oh wait... we don’t.... but we DO all know someone with type II diabetes and other lifestyle induced illnesses that are the “underlying conditions” that lead to death by covid. I’m done being careful for lazy people. Your health is your responsibility. If these restrictive measures were intended for specific areas of people of genuine concern (elderly homes and the like) I would be all for it. But it’s not. It’s to protect all the people who lived grossly unhealthy lives. Big pharma loves you guys for all your palliative needs. But I am done with you.

And of course healthy living is more than veggies. I was being reductive to make a point. Sorry that went over your head.

@edn, your smug message is shameful. All the healthy food in the world cannot save an immunocompromised person from your infected sputum. Not every "underlying health condition" results from poor diet and lack of exercise. Some are genetic, thyroid, diabetes type 1, transplant patient due to heart defect, polio victim...the list goes on. Wear a ***king mask, ja k@ss!

Eating vegetables and lean protein may be part of a healthy lifestyle - but that won’t Stop you from spewing Covid droplets on everyone around you, every time you breathe. Please wear your mask, wash your hands and practice social distancing. The mask and guidelines aren’t just about you. Congrats on surviving, I hope everyone you exposed through your own irresponsibility, is equally as fortunate.

If you care about surviving contagious diseases, start by eating healthy and working out. Stop depending on these mitigations set by government and businesses. Suddenly everyone cares about their health. If you truly cared, you would have taken action long before covid. But it certainly appears it’s easier to put the blame on everyone else for not wearing masks, then it is to take responsibility for how you have been living the previous years. I got it. My spouse and my friend and I survived just fine. You are more likely to die of heart disease than covid. But it’s easier to point fingers at everyone else then it is to take responsibility for your poor life choices. So go eat your fast food and cry that the restaurant doesn’t supply hand sanitizer. I’ll be home with my veggies and lean protein and happy with my covid antibodies already built up.

They should disclose the name if the infected person grants permission. I’m guessing most (almost all) would agree. Relying on the memory of one person is not reliable. All contacts must be immediately quarantined. This is criminal negligence in my view.
