Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

You've gone too far, MM.

I received a dozen goodbye emails yesterday from people I have known and worked with for 10+ years. It was heartbreaking but at the same time I was happy for them as at least they're done with this h3llhole company.

M*ke, you have gone too far. You have crippled the business you were hired to run and now there aren't enough people to even keep it running. Backlog will not come down unless orders are cancelled. If you honestly believe that you can cut 40-50% of some of your most talented workforce and still expect the same results and output, then you are dumber than we all thought you were. If you believe for one second that the rest of us are just going to cower in fear and start doing the jobs of 2 or 4 people, you are sorely mistaken. In fact, it has completely k–led my motivation to do anything for this company and I will spend the remaining days applying for jobs. I'll show up to meetings and pretend that I'm engaged but just know that I'm not. My work output will drop to as little as I can get away with until I can find something else and then I can watch this whole place implode with you at the helm.

Nice job, champ.

I agree with all these posts. Since Honeywell doesn't care about maintaining the business then neither should we.

@1jnf+ You haven't been paying attention. They (Corporate Management) don't want to be in thease businesses (AERO, PMT, AUTO,...etc). Industrial Software ("The Apple of the Industrial World") is where it's going, no hardware development. This was a course charted long ago. DA is a programmer or at least he was many moons ago and that's why he was chosen. My take is there is not a lot of liability in software as opposed to say... Avionics, Engines. or Specialty fibers, Software obsolesces very quickly and generates large residuals. Perfect for revenue streams

To anyone who knew MM from his Anniston days, the current state of Aero shouldn't be a surprise. He's left a trail of destruction in each position he's held since that time. It's even more telling that DA believed MM should be at the top of hill, as that says more about DA's ability to run HON than anything else could - DA is not capable of identifying and retaining the top talent required to propel HON into the future. The past 2 or 3 years have brought an exodus of highly skilled, experienced and knowledgeable employees that peaked during the past 6 weeks and last two RIFs. There can be no recovery from this. The remaining talent will likely flee from HON as soon as they have a chance and their discouragement is palpable. What a sad downward spiral for a once highly productive company, where people actually wanted to work.

Let's not forget the end game......50+% reduction in number of sites......HW is not less 30 yet folks......to become the software industrial, many more sites need to be closed and eliminate HWs biggest burden......census! Buckle up sites not located in Az, Fl, KS, MX. You'll all be gone soon.

This is not a small business. This is a large, multinational business which has been slowly and purposely run into the ground over a few decades and now all they know or care about is the stock price. So, we can all see the result of always putting wall street first and tying the compensation to the stock price and not the sustainability of the company.

MM job is to look out for the company and not for any individual. The faster you can let it sink in, the easier it is to know why you're getting RIFd and getting on with life outside of Honeywell. Recommend to start a small business instead with a few workers. You'd realise what needs to get done when times are bad.

MM doesn't care. He's getting his bonus for cutting costs and maintaining share price.
