Phoenix Engines Dying a Slow Death

Well as you all know the RIFs began yesterday and are continuing into today. Still not sure about Monday, but we will see. First of all this site has become a COVID-19 Hot Spot. Sure they told us about a few positive cases, however I personally know of 16. So if you are lucky to survive this RIF and have to work onsite - wear protection and wash those hands. Second, I am appalled at how the selection process for this RIF has taken place so far. It obviously isn't about your hard work, because I know of several top notch employees who have been RIFd while others who barely lift a finger are safe. They all have the same job title so I can compare. Third, BLM? Not to Darius and Madsen. One of those top notch individuals is an African American, actually the only one I know of, who was RIFd while two barely lifting a finger Caucasians in the same org and job title are safe. Will there be another round after this? Sure will. The Aero industry is dead and will not be back up and running in the near future. If you are indirect and still employed I suggest you dust of those resumes and get them out. Indirects are being cut, even the managers, so don't think you are safe because NO ONE IS. Madsen wanted to cut engineering from the moment he took over for Mahoney and this pandemic has been the opportunity for him to take that action. Apprx 80% of engineering will be gone, those with hands one will be shifted under the ISC umbrella. I can say after all the years working here I've never seen anything more disgusting than want is taking place right now. To all those who worked so hard for many years it's just awful how you've been thrown out the door, literally.

So sad to read this. I put 25 years in there and another 14 in aftermarket retiring with just over 39 total. My father worked there from January of '52 till his retirement in mid 80s. Great company that has been going down hill for the last 15 years. RIP. As we used to say last person please turn out the lights.

Any suggestions to prevent this m—acre? Complain to your rep or union?

This stuff has been going on at other sites for years. Crippled beyond repair. Self-mutilation is the only trick the ALT knows. Definitely not designing new products. It seems the Arizona facilities were spared for some time, but now you're going to get cut beyond-the-bone. All the way into the marrow. All that matters is stock share price, dividends, and bonuses for management.

It's also interesting how the ALT pitted sites against each other to create internal turmoil. instead of being responsible management, they sadistically created political rifts to make sites compete with each other to spare employees. So if it seemed good for Redmond, it wasn't good for Olathe, etc. But in the end, it ended up being not good for anyone not personally profiting from it.
