i am the one not being offered. my area is data center operations under bawcum.
Now hear the 500 number was BS....a little over 200 have applied. Union in negotiations to let all members that applied to be released!

my tech title is not being offered a dime. expected to stay.
They are definitely making the offer to go to most techs , even the titles where they are not surplussing. For example , I'm a systems tech, which they are not surplussing in my area but I got the offer to walk away nonetheless.
Vision 2020? Reduce work force...they have offered the necessary money to get people to go. Why would they shut it down?
I heard the same thing for Southeast. But it was also a rumor.
