So now since Directv is in its own org, T is doing a fleet Modernization program, buying new vehicles for techs and it’s not one or two it’s a lot! Just don’t understand why if they are going to get rid of Directv and surplus all DTV techs why invest in it?

Last year I got a brand new, off the lot, 4x4 van. Then I was laid off a month later.
Just like Time Warner did when it changed the internet side to Spectrum before it was split off.
That's... not correct.
Time Warner spun Time Warner Cable off in 2009, after which TWC was a wholly independent company until they were purchased by Charter Communications in 2016. Charter then changed their name to Spectrum because of the ongoing confusion between Time Warner (the media company that became WarnerMedia) and the cable internet company. Spectrum was a brand Charter had used since 2014 in some markets.
Business as usual any company would do the same thing just like a computer they reach their end of life and costs more to keep it then just replace it.
In the past, a number of AT&T vehicles were leased. These may be lease replacements.
BTW... There are non-DTV areas of the company also getting new vehicles under a large program.
Wouldn't be surprised if someone like Sky TV purchased DTV.
DTV is moving away from satellites. Going to be AT&T TV going forward.

I’ve got the only fall transit in my area and i was told I’m getting a new van😎😎😎 legacy Dtv
the grand finale, with fireworks and new trucks.
Been off sick for a bit so missed a few things. If you wouldn't mind - can you elaborate on the line "Directv is in its own org".
Thanks in advance.

Sorry to break it to you DTV haters but the public wholeheartedly agrees that ATT turned it to sh–. Yes, moving all of DTV into one organization makes it easier to sell. However, DTV will also get the opportunity to show it's worth. How is it that Dish can be profitable and DTV cant?
"Doesn’t Directv still have 19 million customers? “Thanks to T” Why sell the portion of of a company that still is profitable?"
hahahahahaha . . .you either don't work here, live in some kind of bubble, or are just yanking on some chains. What do you think all the complaints over what the Stank and Randy have done these past few months has been about??

Im amazed that you cannot see the bigger picture. Now that its it own ORG, the separation (sold off) will be much much easier and faster. They will polish DTV as much as posible to attract a new buyer and sell it for alot more. You really think the new buyer will want Ts nasty a– logo on its fleet? Nope, they will brand those vehicles with the DTV tornado 🌪 logo.
Feel sorry for the DirecTV Techs. At&t treats them worse than Wire/Prem tech's
Welcome to the death-star
Yeah but none of the directv vehicles are old! The old for directv is 2012 and some they are getting replaced are 2015
Makes it look more attractive for the buyer. The old put lipstick on the pig trick.
