Timing is everhything - True or False?

I have been reading every post for weeks and have seen a lot of dates for projected layoffs - many of those dates have come and gone without coming to fruition.

The one date I have not seen referenced is July 1, 2020.

The date that our Dear Leader Randall of Weaselton departs and our new Lord and Master John Stankey assumes the throne.

It has always of late been Sir John the Stankey who has been most vocal as to the need to cut, trim and reduce in the name of progress and profit.

My Magic 8 Ball tells me that Randall the High Weasel will let John be the fall guy for mass layoffs by waiting until after the torch is passed, before the bloodletting begins in full.

July 1 is the date RSCs in New England (Orange contract) get their official notification, with 1 day to accept or decline a WFH call center job. They know already but that’s their official notification date. No idea about any other positions or departments on that day. July 23 management get our official notification, we were told already as well, then 14 days to hit the road.

Indicators might point to 18k for now, but this is just the start. ATT is dead set at getting rid of 25 to 50% of its work force. They should have done this 15yrs ago. Would have got rid of all the old entitled telco folks, who’ve just been collecting paychecks.

Another view is that the impact of layoffs after July 1 would be part of 3Q earnings which are announced in October... shortly before the election.

Now let see some hard data company said the first quarter took a $830 million or 10-cent-a-share hit due to incremental costs “associated with bad debt reserves, voluntary corporate actions taken primarily to compensate front-line employees and contractors, and WarnerMedia production shutdown costs.”

The last I heard for Leg was in September. Not sure if that's notification letters or LDOP. I would think, Leg would want to cut people as fast as possible just like his diverse thinking leadership brothers...

July 10th is when letters for Scott Mair org go out. July 24th is last day on payroll for that org.

Old Jon Summers org dates are later as new head of IT Jeremy Leg (Technology Services) is getting up to speed.

Non management have different dates per union rules.

You spelled "everything" wrong. You should probably apply for a Clerical Position - they quit testing applicants this week.
