Earning your keep..... LOL. They already know which jobs they are going to cut. I am a top performer with 14 yrs in...... my severance would be a good payout....

I have been through 2 surplus. I was lucky enough to find another job. To my knowledge everyone that is part of a surplus will receive a package. If you are union, it will depend on your contract. If you are non union, it depends on your years of service. If you leave the company you dont get anything.

I would leave if you are staying for the big six months salary surplus. Much easier to find a job while employed and not having a surplus on your record. Left years ago and just too many people staying waiting to be pushed out the door so they protect their work thinking they are the only knowledgeable ones. Lol. Pretty disgusting and is one of att’s biggest problems. So nice to be at a normal work environment where you can get bigger bonuses and bigger salary along with the business growing. Att is just always cutting and marginalizing and my place has a stock price like 17 times of att but we don’t have the magic dividend where the execs are just syphoning money out of the company. Att just doesn’t have the growth and doesn’t want to change as far as I can tell.

Maybe focus on earning your keep instead of wanting free money
