What all tech titles have been relocated to Customer Service & Operations’s under Sorabh Saxen? Anyone know how this change will affect our work?

You do realize that 80 grand a year isn’t that much. There are kids graduating college and their first job out of the gate is 150.
I work for a living = good
I don’t steal from my company = great!
Aspirations for the 21st century and I bet you take care of your kids too, even better.

Post ID: @1rsz+15B2241G. Not angry and I do not want anything from the union or any union. I work for a living and don't steal from the company I work for. I just think unions are pitiful in general. You have outlived your usefulness and basically never adapted to 21st Century technology and business models. You still play your cards as if it's 1970 and we are all in the dark. Grow up and take a peek outside your tiny workspace and you'll see what I mean.
"Union Basher" here. No problem buddy, sure thing.
Typical customer interaction with union worker:
Customer: Hello!
Union Tech: Hello, my name is goon union tech with "I can't help you with that" services. How can I provide you with non-service today?
Customer: Oh.....Well I've been out of service for days now. Can you help please?
Union Tech: Sure can't, but what I can do is refer your trouble to another tech with a bucket truck who is just as dumb as I am who won't/can't fix it either. Even better! I can also refer it to a "smart tech" in the Central Office who doesn't care about customer service at all and will just let it sit there until he's ready to work on it. Is that acceptable?
Customer: Ummm....NO. I need to speak with a supervisor....
Union Tech: Sure thing. Let me go back to my truck and "check a few things" for you. Cut to company vehicle tearing off with no further interaction and the ticket gets returned for "No Access"

Simpleton = an ignorant, foolish, or silly person. (Dictionary.com)
Union Worker = Lazy, ignorant, foolish mo–n
These seem closely related for some reason.......
man there are tech titles everywhere. the basic answer is hell no.
Sounds like you're just jealous of his "simpleton" union life.
Ok in English please , what does all this mean to me as a systems tech in southeast ? How does my job change , if at all.
signed perplexed and confused.

It shouldn't change your specific job at all (at least right now). You can continue on with your simpleton union life now. Thx

@ora+15B2241G, mobility technicians are already in C&E which is going to be in NEO. NEO is not gonna get ASE installs. DEG is dead!!!!!
Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised at all if NEO tried to take back AT&T Mobility cell site and small EMT work (and ASE altogether for that matter) almost immediately to keep DEG busy. Of course it would be under the guise of "to help deliver service more efficiently" and since they carry the big gun, that's all it would take.
It's interesting to see our executive leadership run back to this model all over again after it worked so well the last 10-15 years. Ultimately, it will cause us to neglect the customer, carry on escalation wars between organizations/departments and focus on trivial things that have little to no actual positive customer impact, all while everyone sits around pondering why nothing is improving. Go figure. My 2 cents anyway.
The support staff and cross-functional teams split up between NEO, Consumer and Business will still continue to work hand in hand due to systems and process development and support needs, but this reorg is taking field operations as a whole (DEG, CO, Business, I&R, Cable Repair, etc.) back 10 years in the wrong direction. Organization specific metrics and engagement roadblocks will pull focus away from real customer service just as it did in the past. Welcome to SBC 2.0.
All of current Field Operations - Business has been moved to AT&T Business, excluding DEG and some LNS/OOR Central Office only techs on 7/1. DEG and Central Office LNS are moving to the new NEO-Core Network Operations organization effective 7/1. ABFS and Specials field operations across the entire enterprise will report up to Chad Townes - Global Delivery & Field Services (AT&T Business). Locus will still be the Field Services VP.
How it affects your work? You're soon to be out on the bricks, fella.
Just Business Services techs. In the Southeast that is Digital Techs, System Techs, and Communication Techs.
