There currently is a MASS EXODUS occurring in the Midwest. With the enhanced SiPP offer numbers are near 500 takers just in less than a week.

Why would the chosen 60 year old COTs with 30 years of service or more leave? They can stay and watch all the lower seniority COTs get laid off possibly quarter after business quarter. Then when they are the last of the last of the Mohicans they can hope to retire assuming they can still get up from their desk........ Hell they’ve been doing nothing for about 99.9% of their career why would they leave now and have to be at home enjoying time w their family and friends? They have more pleasure watching the less seniority COTs get plucked out of a job. “Hey Bob did you see how that guy wept like a baby when he got plucked.? —— I sure did Bill! He cried like a child cutting onions.... speaking of onions, what’s for lunch ? I haven’t done squat all day and I’m starving”
Ought to speak volumes to ATT...but of course they never listen.
Enhanced VSP offered to some Central Office techs in St. Louis area. But then CO tech positions will be back filled by TKT qualified CST's that will then be title changed to Combo Techs. Never seen anything like this.
They offered it to a bunch of us in IBEW but said after they fill 176 customer systems techs they won't give it to anyone else. Why not just give it to anyone who wants it if your area ends up with enough head count ... there is no work and hasn't been for a long time.
There are a ton of group one techs that’s can’t get it because their garage was not impacted. 80k plus unemployment is a pretty good offer.
Who exactly are these newbies?
Enhancement was only offered to the CSS title in CWA Midwest. Was it offered to other titles in IBEW?...... can’t imagine they have 500 group one techs taking it in IBEW..... I hope they make same offer across the board to ALL core titles and backfill accordingly. That would increase the takers significantly. Would also make sense, so I guess there is my answer.
