Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Problem with Honeywell Starts at the Top

Honeywell is gutting it’s workforce to save high paid leaders like Madsen, Pilz and of course big D. Aerospace has been spiraling since MM entered the picture 4yrs ago. Yes SBG of the year and all that c-ap, easy to deliver when demand is high and overdrive revenue and OI. Look at OTTR and PD since MM took over ISC. Now demand is suffering and his organization still can not deliver PD. When you promote VP that are not qualified to drive the business, what do you expect? Key criteria for leases in the past 4 yrs.....must be a bobble head and agree with everything MM spews. Nice work HW, ruining a gold mine business. At least now, you can use COVID19 as the reason for poor performance......there is always a scape goat with this leadership crew.

Aero "leadership" is a joke. All the comments are correct. MM & HP were a train wreck when they were at Anniston together and it hasn't stopped. D&S - MM fail. ISC - MM fail (from lowest past due to almost 1 billion in 3 years). C&PS - HP fail ("I'll fix those 2 major customer survey bottom feeder results in 2 years!"). DA only cares about getting the stock price higher than where DC left it. Employees are considered a sometimes necessary inconvenience. Aero customers hate HON and only buy when they have no other choice. The day of reckoning will come. I feel for anyone still stuck at this company. Get out if you can!

I think the like they like to circle jerk each other in their meetings. They are brainless followers that offer nothing to the company.

My entire team has been eliminated the past few days. I was fine when I got my notice Monday, even though I have given this company too many years. It will be fun to watch aero implode from the side lines.....get ready folks....plant closures are planned, make no mistake about that.....don’t forget Big D committed to the street 50% reduction, that means 30-32 manufacturing sites globally. The last few years is just the beginning. The hubs have been established and GSI is working the pipeline under the leadership of another stellar leader...Serge T. This guy is cluelessly abusive and was even investigated by HR not long ago, but he is still in his role. At least, we know the leadership style of choice.....puppets that do what they are told. The Future is What we Make it! It will be a disaster and I’m happy not to be part of the WE anymore!

All are correct. Mad dog and Spray Tan (heeth Patty) have been running aero into the ground for years, surviving only on the fact that as the OEM, customers were forced to buy from us against their will. Back when I was a lowly CSR, I would hear customers tell me how much they hate dealing with Honeywell and that they’d gladly pay MORE to buy the parts somewhere else instead of HON just to not have to go through the hassle. Also they’d say these prices are outrageous and the OTTR s—s, too. They weren’t wrong. Now that customers have a choice to buy elsewhere, they all will. The dipshits at the top finally got the results they’ve been driving towards for 10 years; HON Aerospace is finished as we know it. Sure, the D&S contracts will still pay and maybe MSP will continue to make money before HON ruins them too, but the days of big volume for new parts are over. New aircraft won’t be built for a while, at least not in any real numbers. Boeing will file bankruptcy and since scarebus is state owned, the government will just keep pumping socialist money into it. The BGA world will take a hit with a lot of aircraft sitting idle after their virtue signaling mask flights are done, so no need for new there either. We had a good run, folks but aero stopped being a viable long term business years and years ago. Now, the house of cards is collapsing and nothing will stop it.

@jbg, couldn’t agree more. I came to HON before the Great Recession with two wars going on. We were printing money. You get a $100 bottle of wine. That stuff was fun. Of course, it was borderline wasteful of taxpayer $$$....e.g. the “R” part replacement. Respect to M.M., S.T., N.K., and J.H. For coming up with that one.

Keys to success after 2009-10:
1) Have dirt on someone or something HON has done. Check!
2) Pretend to work hard; activity and quantity, not results. Check! Pro tip: add 3-4 more very busy slides of useless info. Then the VP thinks he adding value by telling you to cut them out.
3) Wait for the bat signal...the big H searchlight calling for the HON Hero! Why prevent a problem, when you can solve it at the last minute at month end!
4) Meetings....go to them, talk, visibility. Plus it gives you an excuse....”I was in Important meetings all day, I’ll try to get to that task this week.”
5) Align work effort with pay/benefits. I went from 10/11 hour days to 8 hours.

Just some HOS best practice sharing.

Totally agree. Add Heath Patrick and Scott Hillpot to the mix. Anniston was told that it produced a 67 million profit in 2019, only to be closing in 2020.

people on the lay off website try to understand and explain what HW is doing wrong, but this is impossible, this sh– company is sailing without a captain. Let me give you few examples. Mad dog was a terrible business leader (D&S) before to tank ISC. He is responsible for about $1B past due. Who on earth could not be fired for that. Guess what this is HW, he is promoted to President! unbelievable! Another one, code of conduct, read it ... Darius and other HW futurericher not wearing masks in the factory, code of conduct states it is fired directly.
Stop trying to understand or explain. This is a lie/political/"i have a folder on him"/"i slept with her" company without any future. I see some continuing to post futureshaper sh– to exist and try to save their a–. I am not even speaking of the young not educated, not clever at all, playing politics who have slept with higher levels and now are VPs ....
Leave this sh– or stop complaining!
