Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau non-committal on airline bailout as Air Canada & West Jet lays off thousands!!!!
Air Canada said on Friday it has decided to reduce its workforce by up to 60 per cent as the airline tries to save cash amid the COVID-19 pandemic and right size its operations to the level of traffic expected in the mid-to-longer term.
The job cuts will be effective June 7 and could affect between 20,000 and 22,800 workers, according to an internal company email seen by the Canadian Press. The downsizing will reduce the airline’s workforce by 50% to 60%, the report said.

It’s just a slowdown (albeit severe). There is NO other alternative to get across the country outside of air travel. It will return as soon as COVID 19 is over enough or people feel comfortable enough that the aircraft has been sterilized properly. I agree that it will get much worse for us, but don’t agree with the apocalyptic scenario.
Lol this is the third apocalypse I’ve seen. Don’t bet on air travel staying low. The demand is there. Old people need not fly. Everyone else... get back to work.
Remember that money drives everything and the moment that it is more profitable to fly airplanes than ground them ... back to work. Best as I can tell that moment is November 4th.
Hell no! This is a wake up call to all Aerospace employees at Honeysink.
