Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Layoffs are hitting today

Layoffs are hitting today. Honeywell said hey were canceling merit increase each earned, to avoid furloughs and layoffs. Then they furloughed thousands of employees, and said it wa to avoid layoffs, now they are laying off. Honeywell is not the kind of compnay you want ot owokr for for the long terms. Darius says this is for the shareholders, but for that to be true the shareholders would have ot be heartless evil doers to force this on people durring a pndemic wiht Honeywell sitting on tems of Billons in cash on hand.

Does this really surprise anyone? This company has lived up to the reputation that Allied brought to the table when they purchased the name all those years ago..good luck to all of you that are still employed by them when this round is done.

HON Aero in Tempe lost a good one today. One that will be immediately felt in revenue, as in within weeks. I’m now trying to go elsewhere. This is bullish!t....they’re screwing themselves in a bad way. Hate to be a part of this. Worse thing is that this employee has a bipolar, angry, insane Director who is currently still there. Her employees know more than she does. She’ll be gone by the end of next week, as will many more under her. That’s just the start.

HON as you now know it, will never be the same. It’s done. To those fantastic employees who got the ax today, count your blessings. Bigger and better.

Hey Glendale Reliability, how is life with the PR Manager after we lost our good friend in CLW , and then me (fired for opening my mouth after 38 yrs) , and my co-worker from Sperry days who left after me?

Honeywell is a piece of sh– place to work, only cares about the bottom line and not people. Today layoffs were only about cost-cutting the American workers so they can keep there cheap overseas and Puerto Rican workers. Honeywell is nothing but b—s— with management that only knows how to bend over for the top brass.

It's been capped at 26 weeks for some time now. Yes, in the past 1 week per year plus 13. I am in that range but would only get 26 weeks now.

Where did you hear 26 week max? Severance used to be a week for every year plus additional 13 for over 20 years. I volunteered RIF 18 years ago. Got the whole thing. Hired back after not quite 2 year departure. I know, I know..... it was a different time.

I was just let go via conference call w/ director and HR. Short script read, and not interactive. Effective today, terminated. Asked to mail my computer and phone to HON, (they pay via provided FedEx acct.#). Not allowed in bldg to gather personal belongings – they will mail to me. Severance of 1wk for every year of service. My one friend of 33 years let go, got 33 weeks, and no goodbyes since we're working from home. HON moved me across the country from the auto industry to take the post here nearly 5 years ago. I am 52 y/o. Just heard of two more in Phoenix, Sr. positions like myself, Band4 +, and another work colleague in Torrance got let go too. It's happening.

Know of a person, worked there his whole life with good reviews. Moved to new manager ... had 8.5 hour surgery, radiation and significant high risk cancer with treatments all last year. New manager gave sh–ty review with no compassion and RIFed today; no doubt a high risk cancer is not something Honeywell takes into consideration. Luckily this person had lots of good managers looking out for him before this. Karma is a beeeetxh.

Typos aside, everything in the post was accurate. Darius made $20M last year alone. He was kind enough to take a 10% pay cut. I also greatly appreciate that the execs gave up their incentive pay. Of course when they gave it up, they already knew they wouldn’t hit the targets because they were set pre-Covid. They weren’t giving up sh–. It works be naive of us to think that they care about anyone but themselves.

Let's not kid ourselves here. HON is doing this as a cost cutting action and nothing more. These people are getting f—ed over so that these millionaires can buy another yacht and the shareholder Ponzi scheme keeps on trucking.
