Thread regarding CenturyLink layoffs

Passing of a CenturyLink colleague from Coronavirus

Sad to see this email, prayers to the family. Of course no details in the email, anyone know where this employee worked? I guess it was bound to happen.

It is 700 W Mineral. The employee who passed away, the one in critical condition needing plasma, and two more all out of Mineral. Company said they sanitized over the weekend, if you know the size of mineral and the number of employees you know that’s impossible to do in two days.

supposedly the IT worker who was in Mineral has died ... was in low 50's and no other health issues apparently.

“A non represented employee. REALLY???????? For fux sake he was our co-worker, who gives a rats a– whether he was a union or non union employee? Can't you die hard union people drop the whole union thing at a time like this? My sympathy and condolences to our co-workers family.“

While I understand your frustration I don’t think he meant it as a slight. That was just his way of say management. Either way my thoughts and prayers are with who is infected with this.

Was it Mineral, or Pennsylvania/New Jersey? If it had to be someone I could pick at least one, but only the good die young.

Someone needs to get to the news media about our situation. Forcing us to work with no sanitizer, no gloves, no masks. We are no different than healthcare workers. They are bawling on TV right now. Some are even quitting because they can't get the very same supplies we are being denied.

Knowing that someone has been infected and then having someone pass due to it is a c-ap shoot, we found out in a round about way someone was exposed in Washington, wasn't from work but person brought it to work and then found out a person he knew was infected and then reported it. That's the last we heard.

Why are we going into people’s houses during an outbreak?

We have had people tested and the low life scum haven't even had the decency to tell us. If not for the people getting tested telling, we would never even know. Now, we have someone that died. Everybody is worried. No masks, no hand sanitizer, no rubber gloves and we are all out here working while everybody else is hunkered down at home.

We have taken a headcount in our area and apparently it is not one of us. Hopefully somebody can post what area we lost our co-worker in. The only way you find anything out is from this website sadly. The company doesn't have the decency to let us know anyting. We are all on our own on this one.
