Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Benefits

These pricks stole lifetime medical benefits from 4500 retirees. They went to court to take them back. I put 30 years in that company, retired and enjoyed 10 years of med benefits. Then they cut them off. I wouldn’t trust any of the upper management there anymore. Head for the hills!!!

N2W - I believe the year was 2009 when if you wanted retiree medical insurance coverage you had to retire by October of that year.

I was part of Aerospace and the old pension plan had medical coverage. Not sure the year, probably about 2005, but those that were covered by the pension but still working, had to retire that year to get the medical coverage. If you decide to continue to work, the medical coverage would not be available when you did retired. The employees get screwed again by HON.

I only worked there for 9 months as a contractor. They had a cash pinch and used contractors as a way to keep cash. I realize that’s why I was a contractor. But I witnessed their methods of changing payment terms to cheat suppliers out of their money. Small businesses who used credit cards to buy raw materials to fill orders. Then they wait. And wait for payment. They arbitrarily changed all terms to 120 days. Suppliers who demanded they be out back to the contracted terms (say 30, or 45 days) after long fights and even refusing the orders would be put back to correct terms. Others remained at 120. Not very impressive for such a large and successful company. I’m glad I moved on and didn’t go back.
