Mass layoffs happened today in AERO
It was all very strange. Why acknowledge the big impact of layoffs to employees and then releases nothing in writing to employees? Seems very clandestine and shady. Most employees have no idea what the terms of this voluntary layoff are and are being asked to make a non-revocable decision in two days, which will be effective at some unknown date in the future.

We were told we could self nominate, but not sure when it would be effective. Could be up to end of qtr 3, but very sketchy. Another group possibly end of the year. Nothing in writing just a very loose talking to by someone who didn't know answers to questions. No HR present. Why would anyone self nominate not knowing what will happen to them during the unspecified time period they still "need you". How will end date be determined? Likely HON will have another need to reduce heads later in the year.
Not saying a number probably means it will be a lot. So much for an American company saving American jobs. Unemployed people don’t buy airline tickets.

When Garrett and Resideo suspend payments to Honeywell the p–p will really hit the fan as Honeywell becomes way less profitable.
To the folks asking about voluntary RIF and unemployment eligibility. It varies by state. I know from personal experience (my wife) in Arizona several years ago. AZ has a statement in their application "To qualify for UI benefits, you must be out of work through no fault of your own". She was denied unemployment benefits due to volunteering for a RIF. Other states may have different rules.

Yes they want to get paat dues caught up and thdn let you go as a big THANK YOU, HON Great American Company. One talking point is this is a very targeted RIF ONLY US AND CANADA IMPACTED
This is going to be so mu h fun as though morale isnt low enough and now we hear your volunteer may be acceptec but it could be months later before you are let go

First, no reduction percentages were mentioned. Will reductions be 10% of staff, or 15%, or...? As usual, Honeywell is needlessly vague. Why not send the lay-off self nomination instructions out via email? Also two days for people to review and decide what to do?! And severance will only be paid if you are in “good standing” and continue to maintain performance and behavioral standards with targeted end date sometime in Q3. No real information was presented. Who makes those behavioral determinations? Seems like a perfect opportunity to shaft employees.

Yep! Scheduled at 11am across AERO, at least in Phoenix. Can't wait for the announcement of more furloughs!!!
