Thread regarding Hertz layoffs

Why is European leadership silent?

Nothing from Angela Brav.
Nothing from the Country Leaders.
I am lucky because I have a great manager who keeps me informed.
But I want to hear from our leaders, because I know that our financial position is fully broken, and I know then are going to fire us all but they are too ashamed to communicate.

You really are a sad lot.

So many who would not be happy until the business went under, and the existing employees made redundant.

You are dismissive of every positive and revel in any negative.
Mostly, you are ill-informed and rely on Chinese whispers.

If you still work for the company, you must be unhappy, and should find another opportunity to concentrate your efforts on in a positive manner. You will feel happier.

If you have already left, move on. There is nothing your words will change, they will only add to your pathetic attempts to bring others down.

In many companies, it is not unusual for a leadership team to be criticized, it's natural when the ranks below don't like what they see or hear.

However, some comments made have been disgraceful and extremely personal, let alone untrue. You should be ashamed.

By the way, the coffee van was provided by Marriott, for free, so dismiss the allegations of money being spent inappropriately or unnecessarily.

Yet again, jumping to conclusions.

Low rent coffee trailer and a loaner Tesla in the rain doesn’t say a lot about the big recovery.

Sad reflection on Angela Brav and the rest of the leadership team that getting ONE Tesla and plastering LinkedIn with the usual staged photos with sycophantic ‘likers’ will convince anyone that Hertz is back with a bang.

OEM’s won’t/can’t supply cars to us for 2022 with the usual discounts, and we have no idea what to do with them even if they did - remind me, who’s in charge of strategy? 2020 cars with intergalactic miles anyone?

Latest COVID variant is about to SMASH a nail into the Hertz coffin, god help us if we lose Christmas again.

WHY CANT WE DIVERSIFY?
Angela Brav, that’s why.

Just pausing for a second, Hertz Europe has not made money since 2019, maybe 2018? They have been granted a lot of investment and the debt paid off.

And let’s think how AB spends it, on a coffee truck and putting a car outside Hertz House, because apart from that we have no plan.

I would like Angela to do a town hall and present how she is embracing the future, resolving the fleet issues, fixing the marketing challenges, the list is endless, and if Mark interim CEO is ignoring International because he’s busy trying to resolve the collapsed share price, he needs to look closer over the pond, Hertz will never gain respect while we have these leaders internally or externally, sorry Mark but a lesson in leadership start with the right team, not an IPO.

Angela Brav - how many Tesla’s are we getting in Europe? In the U.K.?

From what I hear the announcement took you by surprise.

…and Elon saying they are being sold to Hertz at retail price - that’s going to hurt right? Does it even work?

Please can we have some real information about our future, or are you still hiding?

Pretty sad what’s happening at Hertz, but given the comments on here, it’s probably not a surprise?

A broken team all blaming each other, instead they should be trying to save the business or move on to something or a leader they like.

If this site is a reflection of Hertz employees, bitter and rude about others and the company they represent, shame on them.

The spelling and punctuation off the ‘selling Hertz House’ post indicates that it’s been written by you know who - yep Gehlan is back.

Don’t be surprised if it is deleted by the moderators (like her previous posts - she has previously transgressed site rules, and routinely gets ‘moderated’).

Hertz House is not owned by Hertz, and therefore cannot be sold. Nice try Trace - stick to the day job (washing cars, in case you didn’t know).

I think they will exit the uk market as well as franchise the EU market too, they have just sold Hertz House which leads me to believe that there intentions are to have no corporate business operate other than in the US.

Oh dear, Fred D you are delusional.

Per the previous post, Angela Brav’s Hertz International continues to fail, and showing performance relative to mid-pandemic stats is weak.

Let me help…
“ Adjusted EBITDA in International was $8 million for second quarter 2021 driven by strong cost mitigating actions to match demand as International recovery continues.
We issued $800 million asset-backed notes incurring our lowest ever interest at a weighted average rate of 1.73%.”

Cost mitigating actions - we have no business, so we spent a lot less. We are pretending that the resulting cost reduction was deliberate and not just a natural consequence of having no business.
Asset backed notes at a low interest rate - we still need to borrow tons of money to make a loss. Luckily the interest rate is low. We will be carrying a ton of debt when the market returns.

Other daily rental co’s have reacted to the new reality and restructure to capitalise on this.
Hertz meanwhile is waiting for the world to get back to what it thinks is normal.

Sorry to say, but all the US care about now is the BRAND. EU will be franchised.

Find alternative employment benefits f you can.

Americas RAC results are good, yes said Fred. But this site refers to Hertz International. Those Q2 results paint a very different picture when you compare them with Avis International.

Hertz lost $1M
Avis made a profit of $8M

I doubt the Sr. Leadership is upset when you compare Hertz & Avis for Q2. Both companies had record quarters. Kudos to A. Brav and team for still being amazing.

Hertz Global Holdings Reports Strong Second Quarter 2021 Financial Results

  • Total revenues of $1.9 billion up 62% from first quarter 2021, excluding Donlen revenues
  • Net loss of $168 million including $633 million of reorganization expenses
  • Adjusted Corporate EBITDA of $639 million for the quarter was a Company record
  • Corporate liquidity of $3.0 billion at June 30, 2021, including $1.8 billion of unrestricted cash, compared to $1.1 billion at first quarter-end
  • Hertz emerged from Chapter 11 on June 30, 2021 as a well-capitalized company with the flexibility and resources to pursue exciting new growth opportunities

Avis Budget Group Reports Record Net Income and Adjusted EBITDA
Total Company revenues were up 212% compared to second quarter 2020 and up 1% compared to 2019.
Adjusted EBITDA in the Americas was $634 million for second quarter 2021 driven by continued sequential revenue growth and sustained cost discipline.
Adjusted EBITDA in International was $8 million for second quarter 2021 driven by strong cost mitigating actions to match demand as International recovery continues.
We issued $800 million asset-backed notes incurring our lowest ever interest at a weighted average rate of 1.73%.

Unfortunately when you have such bad leadership, talent won’t stay.

However if everyone below the leader is even worse does that make the leader look better?

I would suggest that’s the strategy deliberately down grading is the only way you become the smartest in the room.

With the current leadership Europe is really in a dire situation. Hopefully the new investors are happy to loose 7B.

The Europcar announcement must be another nail in the Hertz EU coffin.
With no recovery (still think diversification from airport and corporate is a bad idea?), revenue falling and lacklustre leadership, how long can this go on?
Talent is leaving/has left, and the wrong people are left running the business into the ground.
Enterprise/Europcar/Avis must be quite relieved that Hertz is effectively taking itself out of the game.

The Mid-et is beyond quiet, probably delighted with her PLPD return which saved her for another month.

Running out of cars,, 90% of deals collapsing, tick tick tick, surely she can’t hide behind the pandemic forever?

Taride on a white horse, sat sideways, wearing a top hat - coup de theatre. I‘d give a week‘s wages to see him enter like that. Maybe after being mistreated he grew some cogones in the past three years and is coming back angry. Another two week‘s wages to witness the firing of Brav and Peshkar. Might be the best corporate summer I have ever had, watching the fat cats be removed one by one.

For the person who was doubting the information about leisure bookings from corporate accounts being cancelled or applied a higher rate...did you realize it was true?
The unrespectful decision is now spreading across Europe....screaming everywhere.
France, Germany, Italy...
How can the basic rules if customer respect be so savagely flushed?

How low is morale in Angela Brav’s Hertz that employees are bickering on a public facing layoff site about discounts?

If you haven’t already planned your exit then I think you need to start, and I would forget worrying about discounts.

The leaders that are left in this organisation are not intelligent, gifted and pleasant individuals that you would to stand next to in a toilet, let alone work with on a daily basis - although the experience will be similar.

That is all.

In case you haven’t actually read the email before getting upset…
1) employees will continue to be able to rent with discount
2) nominated f&f will not be eligible for any discounts during the suspension
3) all existing f&f bookings will be honoured with discount

No friends or family discount now!! So you work your socks off to try and help an ILT who will get bonus regardless but you are just a minion who they have no interest in. They continually ask for your commitment and support and offer zero in return. Is it any surprise people are leaving? Toxic culture driven by a self seeking leadership team

What country are you referring to?

by

Post ID: @6ytcf+14PvfaDW

The impact depends on the country. But sadly it's a true news.
So sadly.
They cancelled the corporate benefit for the leisure rentals of the employees resulting in shifting to outrageous public rates.
Confirmed bookings with corporate rates are cancelled...families are last minute informed and are being betrayed.
They won't love the road!
Poor company!

Post ID: @6xknb+14PvfaDW

In not sure I believe everything I read here. I work at a branch and have not seen any problems where customers are asked to pay more than they reserved. Maybe if they extend the rental days, take optional extras or upgrade their vehicle then perhaps yes, but not a reserved booking?

by

Post ID: @6xryo+14PvfaDW

As the note before, ripping off the customers is Brav’s last hope. Have you book a car and when you turn up the price changed, then your stuck, seems like a law suit waiting to happen.

Also it might keep her in a job for a few more months, always remember EVERYTHING is about Angela, employees or customers are irrelevant.

This company is a shame!
Hertz is turning down hundreds of clients by changing their rental rates at the last minute.
Families are directly impacted with their budget multiplied by 4 to 5 times from their confirmation.
Management hates the clients and its employees.
The culture is rotten and a bunch of kiss a-s hypocrit employees follow without moral this lame management.
Employees : run away!
Clients: you're being lied to, abused...rent elsewhere!

The bonus scandal will come back and haunt Hertz, not only did they only survive due to Goverment support, she also made the most mistakes and probably doubled the losses from Covid, I’m certain big changes are ahead.

However tell the US your going to loose 95m and then only loose 75m, and it seems Paul is happy? It’s an alter universe, but given the front loaded 2021 plan and private equity perhaps being a little more concerned about the loss, then I would say Hertz holiday camp has expired?

Post ID: @6jbhn+14PvfaDW

Claiming bonus when the company has been kept afloat by a job retention scheme is totally immoral and unethical. How many who were on furlough were retained ? Wait on seeing a huge clear out when the new owners realise how inept the ILT actually are. Heading for the UK operation being franchised off. Time to get out as it won’t be pretty. Many people taking action and leaving who were not threatened by redundancy. That tells a whole different story.
