My lawyer said don't wait for their package. Apply for unemployment today and get it as long as you can with the COVID $600 "bonus". We will likely have 45 days to sign the severance package if we take it. Once we sign the severance package, we need to come off unemployment for the duration of the severance coverage. We can go back on unemployment once severance is exhausted, but at that point, it is likely the $600 COVID bonus will have expired. Think that is scheduled to end July 1. So for the person who thinks we are clueless for talking to a lawyer, the 15 minutes of time I bought from my lawyer is going to pay back a few grand$$. Also, since it is looking from my perusal that older guys were targeted, there may be a valid age discrimination claim to make.

This layoff was planned many weeks ago. Don’t think there are not ties between Gulfstream/GD and the State of Georgia. During the Covid-19 shutdown Gulfstream remained open while the State of Georgia unemployment insurance was being hit the hardest. State of Georgia begins reopening and lessens the unemployment claims...Gulfstream layoffs. Follow the money.

Does anyone actually think they will do call backs? Or are they just trying to pay 2 weeks less money?

That's the day anyone who has been laid off will know if they will be permanently let go or if it will be rescinded. That's when benefits end and severance packages will be offered.
